everything that lives is gone to waste

For months and months now I've had this physical feeling like my chest is empty. It literally feels like there's an internal gap or something and it provides me with discomfort, it's directly in the center of my chest and I hate it. Is this a thing?? Is there a medical thing that describes this??

This is known as feeling of emptiness.
If you look for it on internet, you will probably find some info.
I feel often empty from time to time. It can happen because I feel lonely and see people and families meeting outside.
I missed and still miss having a family that supports(ed) me.
I found this article about it.
The abstract is extremely hard to understand. I suggest to just skip it.
The intro is understandable with citations of previous papers about emptiness.
You can then look for these papers with google scholar if you want.

This link is a less technical article
