Is the world against you?

I'm turning 29 this year and I notice my life has gotten more and more difficult.

I get more hostility from others, can't go to certain bars, younger ppl hate me, etc

Feels like swimming against a current

Anyone else?

I guess but it's not my focus. I am my own problem. I'm not against the world as much as I'm against myself. I'm sure it'd just be worse if I felt like the rest of the world was against me though.

I'm mixed race in a predominantly white ruralish area so that's partly why

I know it isn't, and doesn't work that way, but ya, some days it sure looks that way. It's also true that I've never been a good friend to me, which hasn't helped.

I just see myself as not being meant for this world, I should have never been born in the first place. I struggle to cope with life. I always see this world as being against me, life is so depressing after all and things could easily get much worse. I just want to be free from this life and become nothing.

Yeah. The world, God, Karma, probably my own inner self. Unlike a lot of brave folk on here, I've fought my true self my entire life, and that's partly, at the very least, why I am where I am in life right now and why I'm in the state of depression I am. Something certainly seems to be against me. There is certainly a cost that one has to bear for not accepting a side of themselves. That cost is a constant inner turmoil that creates enormous and profound constraints in all aspects of one's life, significantly depleting any drive, desire, or effort that would have been available from oneself for more worthwhile and meaningful endeavors. What's really ironic is that the world would have been against me either way. It beats you down, and over time, it crushes you.

Sometimes it really doesn't. You know, I'm not a saint, and I'm frustrated and get mad as hell—I really do get where you're coming from. With the rejection thing too. But I can't change the world. I was born with a set of conditions that made life very difficult. It's no one's fault. There are many of us in very similar boats.

And that doesn't answer your question. So I'm not really a solipsist, but I suppose I share, or rather have, the position that the world/society, etc, just is. It's how I perceive it that ultimately matters. So I do my damndest to avoid the morons and keep to myself. I'm no longer at all competitive, and while the feeling of having been passed by hurts like hell, I just do what I can. Being very close to being out in the bush really helps, for some reason. Even though they're chopping it all down…

Your mindset is much healthier than mine haha. Kudos to you! I think it's good to accept things the way they are but man does it make me sick
