I watch films like Blood Diamond and see DiCaprio at the end bleeding from a wound and apart from the earlier pain of getting shot, he seems to go into a sombre state as his life slowly ebbs away. So I wonder if slow blood loss without being shot, is a gentler and less painful way to go?

I've seen images of people who slit their own throats. You'd need to do something to that level. I have no idea how you go through with that. I held a knife to my throat to see if I could go through with it but not even close. Assume you'd have to cut deep too.

I think i would ctb sooner if I had a less painful method as I dont like idea of hanging or poison.

Gotta be easier way than slitting my throat! I mean just to bleed internally maybe after a fall but not getting it seen to. The idea of slowly fading away as i grow weaker seems okay

Agree on hanging as that's what I want to do and can't get over that hump. Just the potential brutality, although the hope is too pass out quick. I can see what you mean on bleeding out but it would take a lot.
My problems in life began with a surgery that was not done correctly. It's a long story I haven't shared here yet, but a detail is that I had a lot of bleeding at one point. You have no idea how much blood you actually have. It got so dark eventually. Another surgery to "fix" it though that one also had issues, though the bleeding stopped.
Anyway I think you'd need serious damage or a main artery.
It doesn't seem to make sense, I mean we're all actively suicidal but still here due to the difficulties, so many looking for an easy way. Yet it happens every day. Someone right now. How?

Thanks for sharing itsgone2, I didnt know how much blood loss was needed but you say significant amount. Hollywood makes it look so simple

I have been thinking about self decapitation with a long knife / sword (with something requiring little set up, so using a guillotine is ruled out). I have read that a samurai or ninja did successfully cut his own head off. Any idea how that move is performed?

That would be difficult but at some crossings trains have to move slowly and it seems possible to me to dive in front of a wheel.

I am not looking for anything like this for me. I am looking for a gentle way to gradually bleed and become unconscious and pass. This is scary to me

How do you ascertain you will bleed to the death? Do you have access to blood thinner? I have been wondering if taking aspirin would help CTB given aspirin doesn't require a prescription in my place.

I'm honestly not trying to be negative in this thread but aspirin won't thin it enough. I should add when my blood got really dark toward the end it was also super thick. It was like paste. Even crazier is they never gave me any blood. I had to go in for surgery again but that was it. I was super pale for weeks and needed iron pills but that was it. So to bleed to death seems incredibly likely you'll just greatly injur yourself. Don't want to see that happen to anyone of course. It's not what we're looking for.

Do you mean that cutting the wrist is a non-method?

Kind of. Best I can tell suicide by cutting is only about 1 or 2% of the cases. No breakdown on how much of that is wrists only. So, difficult to do. It seems far more likely you'll survive. If you do it you'll have to go deep from what I've read.

I've tried it before and the pain honestly wasn't that bad up until the very end where nausea hit me like a truck and i started to feel myself slipping away.
Once bleeding stoped i quickly regenerated blood volume and stabilised quickly. I was completely fine after like 7 glasses of apple juice.
At the time i had really strong veins and was basically bleeding like a hose from them till SI kicked in and i crawled out of the shower. Then promptly passed out infront of it for a few moments.
I didn't cut any arteries only veins. I think now if they got severed i wouldn't bleed to a point where i could die since they're super ultra thin now.
Oh also this took hours of bleeding out in a cold shower.

Is cutting peaceful, uhm, it gets super scary at the end. Is cutting easy, no. Will it kill you, the odds are against you.
