Is it still consider suicide if I drink myself to death? I've been drinking from the moment I wake up to the time I go to sleep ever since I had what I believed to be an heart attack. I was riding my bike one day and my chest started hurting, my heart was pounding really fast, had difficulty breathing, was feeling light headed and almost passed out. My cousin who is a physician assistant says that it isn't the symptoms of a heart attack and that it could've been anxiety. But I beg to differ as a week before, there was a sharp pain on the left part of my heart. It came out of no where. I am pretty healthy as I watch what I eat and I work out. I think this was cause by years of loneliness and isolation. Now every time I take a shot and drink the cocktail I made myself, my chest and heart starts to hurt. But what seems to really do the trick is some liquor mix with Red Bull. That really gets my heart going crazy. I have also been waking up to chest pains and when I lay on my left side and there's pain on my left shoulder and my heart and my left arm starts to go numb. Numb like it is deprived of blood. I don't know how long it will take nor how much more drinking I have to do to give myself a heart attack. I also recently learned that quitting drinking cold turkey is just as dangerous as alcohol withdrawal can lead to a heart attack as well. So right now it seems like it will be a win-win situation for me. What do you guys think?

I am no cardiologist to be able to tell you what really happened with your heart, but it is said very frequently by "mental health resources" that anxiety do cause physical discomfort, and there have been studies also associating loneliness and isolation with pain, and even heart attacks, but I can't guarantee you anything. You are clearly doing this in an attempt to harm yourself, so yes, I think it could be called suicide (unless you manage to hide your emotional symptoms very well from authorities, they might just label it as plain alcoholism that triggered other pathologies).

I mean, that's your plan, right? So I guess it is suicide.

If you do it on purpose knowing that you'll die then it's considered ctb.

Alcohol abuse is an extremely slow and painful way to die. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Don't think you can accidentally drink yourself to death.
I mean I would love to achieve that but I believe that that is pretty difficult to accomplish. Unless you want to suffer from alcohol poisoning.

If you have been drinking for a long time and very frequently, then yes you are probably running into some health issues. Going cold turkey off alcohol can range from mild to life threatening circumstances, I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't think what you had was a heart attack, if it was you wouldn't be here making this post. That's not to say there isn't an issue with your heart, obviously I don't know because I'm not your doctor but they do sound more like symptoms of a panic attack. Heart attacks as far as I'm aware don't feel like sharp pain in the chest but more of a pressure or burning sensation(although in most cases burning in chest is causes by heartburn or acid reflux), but the only way to be sure is to get it checked out by an actual doctor

The only reason I don't believe it's a panic attack is because I had walked it off until I was able to get myself together again. I then hopped back on my bike, rode 3 blocks and the pain came back. I stopped by a park and sat down for about 30 mins. I then proceeded to bike again and the pain started to come back but only it wasn't as bad until I had hit an uphill on a bridge.

You could look up Lea Sidorova from Russia who was an alcoholic who died of hypothermia there is even a picture of her body laying in the snow with just pants, boots and a shirt so she probably couldn´t feel the cold unfortunately I can´t post this picture here because of my country´s laws. My point is if you´re a hardcore alcoholic I think it would be easy to pull off in the winter if you get snow that is if you´re a hardcore alcoholic that can drink till you black out outside in the snow. I have been drinking too often in the last few months but I can´t drink till I blackout like many others can. I also can´t drink plain hard liquor.

I know this reply is a very late but in case OP is still considering this method I just wanted to say that anxiety can produce pretty profound chest pain.
Having said that, the numbness indicates that there's probably more going on, in my humble opinion at least.
But let me tell you something that I hope you take seriously: My mother had several Heart Attacks due to heart disease caused by smoking.
The first one didn't kill her, and she had several more subsequently.
Her arteries were so blocked that they couldn't perform bypass surgery.

Also my Mum's ex boyfriend is a raging alcoholic and has been for some 40-odd years.
He's never had a heart attack, and doesn't exactly take good care of himself in other ways either.

As another user here put it: it is a slow way to die that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

The human body is surprisingly resilient; if you want to die, choose a more lethal method, I say.
Otherwise it's more likely that you'll simply suffer a massive amount of pain and wind up in hospital rather than dying. You might even suffer complications severe enough to render you incapable of CTB.
There are more humane methods available.

Peace, love, and good luck, my friend.
