Is it me or is it my boss?

I don't get it. I juuuuust don't get it!!!
After quiting/being fired (it's complicated) my previous job I was so hiped about starting new. I went to a woman that I knew from years ago - U know, sports, hobby, work stuff.

I was promised lots of wiring hours during summer time. Right now all I know is 8 working days during July. 8!
And.... My boss is a walking nightmare.

She demands "being in contact" all the time. For example, my free day I can get a sms like "I'm waiting for you're answer (on messenger) for 2 hours already".

I made a single mistake, and now she's treating me like a child. She's texting on group chat questions about the simplest tasks, as if I don't know I need to do them.

I had a lot of toxic jobs before. I expirienxed mobbing and a boss telling me that I'm a piece of shit, and I'm not worth of love and stuff like this.

I'm afraid that all of that (and other things my previous employers said) are true.

I know I'm a good worker. I'm doing my 150%, I see my job as a part of myself and my performance sais a lot about myself!

I'm confused. I'm afraid.

In the Army you can end up working for all sorts of people. When you end up working for some Napoleon wannabe you have to protect yourself with what I call the slavery response. If someone were to have you dig a hole and keep yelling at you to dig it faster, you would simply dig at the same slow rate and think in your mind, "Yass Sir boss man. I be digging as fast I can."

Sometimes it can be helpful if someone thinks you are retarded because it makes them feel superior and you can work even slower. You can even ask questions like, "Since this is my day off, should I put this time down on a work day?"

it's your boss. it's not reasonable to demand to stay in constant contact even outside of your work nor ethical. if you can, please bring this up to the HR alongside screenshots and other evidence.

its not you, your boss is shit and is not giving you enough hours. i wish i had more advice, in the past id just cope by letting people think im stupid, and disengaging emotionally. are you doing something where you can't start your own business? i know having a buisiness is so much work but you seem like the kind of person who would excel more than someone who doesn't see work as meaningful or something to take pride in.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Some bosses just love micromanaging. I don't think it's personal though. I don't think that she thinks badly of you. She's just like that. I've worked under one. She's abroad so I guess her attitude comes with the distance since she can't oversee our activities in the office. And yes, the lady also made us work on the weekends too. Ah well.

But hell, I don't know your boss so maybe she's just not meant to be a good leader.

whaaat?? shes an nimrod, and that may count as discrimination :( i hope you find a workplace where you are appreciated and given liveable hours/wages man.

If ur in the us and she explicitly stated in the termination message that the reaspn was ur adhd, u can report them for unlawful termination.

I know everyone says sue sue sue like it's easy and doesn't cost money but i think these are one of the cases where u don't need a lawyer
