While yes, you can choose to look at things in a positive light but if it really is a choice, then wouldn't everyone be able to be happy by now? No one asks to live a shitty life. So it's a rather tough question, imo.
i saw a tweet that happiness is a choice and it made me google it and looks like many articles agrees? and it got me confused and irritated.. it kinda make depressed people choose to be depressed and we have the option to be "happy" just if we choose to
When people say "happiness is a choice" most are definitely not referring to depressed people. Being DEPRESSED is entirely different from being SAD. What they mean is that you have to choose to look at situations in a brighter light or make the conditions for a beneficial and happy environment, you know?
We (mentally ill people) obviously can't choose to be happy and to assume that would be plain idiotic. But I do think it's SOMEWHAT true for those without mental illness.
