Is death actually a good thing?

its not so much of a good thing but ive tried everything to make myself feel better to stop all the pain and hurt ive been though over the years and nothing has helped and my only opition is to ctb to finally be at peace away from all the shit ive been though my entire life we all have our limit to how much we can take and im well past my limit

I don't think death is inherently a negative thing, nor is it positive. I believe it is neutral, but it could also be positive. For example, if someone who is constantly suffering with little prospects of actually getting better, then death can be a positive result. However, if someone is enjoying life, wants to live, has hope for the future and many things going for him/her, then death would be a negative result. Death itself is a natural thing that is inevitable for all living things, humans included.

Death is just a means to end of suffering for me. Other than the difficulty in achieving it - it doesn't carry much more reasonace for me than the train I take to work.

Death isn't great my existence is a huge turd sandwich. I'll take the neutral in that scenario.

When people typically compare death to life they are not comparing death to life. The are comparing a terrible boogeyman that they see as the worst thing ever to the positive parts of life. In western society espically people are condition from an early age to see death as the worse thing ever and life as the best thing ever. In reality death is just a neutral with the closest example I can think of being a dreamless sleep. Do you ever hear adults complaining and fear going to sleep? Ofcourse not, Almost evreyone looks forward to and enjoys dreamless sleep. If you honestly averaged life out the good and the bads for the average person I think the bads would outweigh the goods. There is no such thing as chronic happiness but there is chronic pain, chronic depression etc.

I personally dont mind that. I am just an observer so it fit my role perfectly. Eternity but a blink of an eye but in return I bear witness to everything. Both good and bad. Both joy and regrets. The height of achievement and the depth of failure. To watch humanity grow flourish or face their extinction. I will just be there silently watching.. it's poetic.

If I can party, have sex, do whatever I want without any consequences, no health problems, no disease, no risks, no danger then heck I'm as happy as Phil in Groundhog Day. Eat what I want, no weight gain, drink as much as I want, no hangover.

Possibilities seem endless, and let's face it, you have eternity to experience it all!!!

Immortality sounds like hell, never settling, always looking over your shoulder, constantly moving, hiding, being a secret. Maybe if it came with an unlimited amount of money, and no restrictions, and you can have a partner with you, then OK< but Otherwise death to me is something I think is a good thing, we are born, we survive we die. i think the saddest thing about immortality is when you see everyone around you die the people that you love and care about will die...even if you want to join them youre going to be stuck in a place where times change and people die...so sometimes death is a good thing
