Help Is a .44 magnum a good choice for ctb?

I know .44 is one of the most powerful handgun rounds, but would it be a good "bus ticket" so to speak? Is it reliable

Most bullets are. People think you need a huge round to succeed but anything above a. 22 will get the job done. Bonus if it is a hollow point.
