Hi I'm kinda new but I've been a long time follower. I appreciate how empathetic and supportive everyone is on here.
Ive felt the need to ctb for about 2 decades now. There are many reasons. But I've gotten to the point of feeling like there's no quality of life in struggling and suffering as much as I am.
I've been curious aboutinjecting a large amount of lidocaine with epi intravenously (self inducing a heart attack). How agonizing and how long do you think it could take? Since I live alone, what are the survival chances? I have basic phlebotomy skills (that anyone could learn) so I feel like I could use a 60ml syringe with 25 gauge needle into the venous blood stream -aka vein- (with possibly a butterfly).
I've never put an IV in myself before so I'm thinking the foot veins would be easiest.
What are your thoughts?
(The only thing that has stopped me from ctb over the last 8 years is because of my dog. I love him so much and he's my world. It'll be impossible to leave him😭)

what does epi stand for?
lidocaine ld50 is 25mg/kg or 1.5g for a person weighting 60kg, signs of toxicity as follows:
"Signs of lidocaine toxicity include:

Numb tongue or lips
Ringing in the ears
Bad taste in the mouth
Nausea
Sedation

More severe toxicity is manifested as seizures, respiratory and cardiac arrest, and coma."

the time it'd take to die depends on the rate of IV infusion, due to seizures i think it'd be problematic to support consistent lidocaine solution flow if drip flask is used also lidocaine is insoluble in water but soluble in ethanol so i think you need to use ethanol-water lidocaine solution via 500ml drip flask IV infusion simply because injecting ethanol via 60ml syringe very likely to cause painful burning sensations at the site of injection also it's relevant only for powdered chemically pure lidocaine from RC shops. otherwise use the drug in form for arrhythmic conditions which doesn't require any dilution

moreover lidocaine for arrhythmic conditions and for topical anaesthesia sold with different fillers, filling of the antiarrhythmic variation specially designed for parenteral administration whereas lidocaine for topical anaesthesia has preservatives which possibly dangerous if injected(embolism)

The action of lidocaine on the CNS precedes its cardiac effects. You don't want to be conscious when these effects start. It causes seizures. This method has been discussed many times on the forum. For this method to cause sudden cardiac arrest, you must push the highly concentrated lidocaine solution through a large vein very quickly. It still does not guarantee a peaceful CTB. Lidocaine is never used in animal euthanasia without a strong sedative. Bupivacaine's cardiac toxicity is much higher than lidocaine, maybe it can do the job, though that's an assumption.
