The world's richest 2,000 people hold more than poorest 4.6 billion combined according to Oxfam (cited by Reuters).

When I saw this headline, my heart sank. This is us. This is humanity. Our spieces.

I feel only disgust.

I wish I could shed my "humanity" like a snake sheds its skin. I would gladly rather turn into a fruit fly, if I could. At least a fruit fly is true to its nature, it does not lie, deceive and steal while bragging about its morality and philantrophy.

All by design. More for them and less for us so they can keep us locked in this fixed game. It's disgusting. If you want to see what they want to do read silent weapons for quiet wars.

not surprised to be honest, some people have way too much power and resources stolen from others. why are some people allowed to do this is beyond me.

i also remember reading something like only 100 corporations are responsible for 80% of global emissions, not even taking into account other kinds of pollution and the ones that profit from deforestation. that's just staggering, almost impossible to believe. my favorite part about this is that people still believe that if we join efforts we can still save the environment.

just No, there is nothing that the average person can hope to achieve in order to prevent an inevitable weather crisis, the damage is already well beyond repair even if those parasites at the top stopped their ridiculous wealth hoarding campaign against everyone else.

this economic system is broken and this kind of bullshit just shows its cracks, but i'm not saying that socialism or communism can solve the issue, in reality there is no way to stop the ones at the top from abusing and exploiting others for their own benefits, that's just nature, not even human nature.

Yup, species try to overtake and dominate their environments and competitors, even plants do it.

Plagues seemed to have potentially served the purpose of keeping populations in check, in every social strata. Medicine, I think, kinda f*cked up that plan. If nature has a backup plan, it seems incredibly overdue.

All people have to do is stop following orders. Like quit going into military, don't send kids to be brainwashed in gov school, don't become a cop, we have to collectively agree that slavery is wrong. That institutionalized violence enforced on the people is immoral. Government is a very violent institution not there to protect your rights at all in fact quite the opposite.

Our human nature is the result of our elevated intelligence. This is the result of evolution which is down to what we call nature. Behind nature are the rules of physics, which is ultimately reducible to mathematics. Or religion. Take your pick.
This is unfortunately the natural order of things. We want it to be fair but it's not. Having power corrupts those that wield it.
The only solution is to learn wisdom and to choose to have less so others can have more. In some ways this goes against the evolutionary imperative to succeed. But actually, it allows the species to succeed at the cost of the individual. I believe this is the next stage in our societal evolution but would only come after a massive societal collapse or even an apocalypse. And even then only as the cycle repeats itself.
Wisdom is far from easy.

For some reason it reminded me of the Jim White song. Can't find it on utube but here are the lyrics.

No wonder there's a phone booth up there. As Joni Mitchell sings: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Yes, I oftenly wondered what happens if humanity actually did this on a large scale basis. Perhaps the current society we know it as today would no longer exist, collapse, and there would be chaos for some time (no laws, government, regulations, only reduced to animalistic desires and drives) until some other power fills the vacuum (another government or group of elites from the wreckage)?
