Though it won't actually help him
get out of here!

But it's cool that's those thoughts get more mainstream.
If sueing your parents would become a thing ...everyone would be afraid of having kids, love it.

I really think that suing parents for giving birth to you in shitty life situations should be more common so people think twice before giving birth to a child in shitty life situations just to force them live miserably and expecting them to magically make their own perfect life starting from zero.

I think it's interesting how cool the parents are about it.

I have thought that if all my suicide attempts fail and I'm doomed to live, I might devote my pitiful existence to studying law and fighting for the rights of those who want to die.

I read about it in the past. I think this kind of suing should be common so more ppl can be discouraged from having children. If money and freedom are involved then more ppl will be forced to listen.

Not related to this but I remember reading about a Kenyan lawyer who sues Israel for Jesus death lol.

That gave me my laugh of the day. But seriously having a child is not a choice for most women who get pregnant. They are going to deliver that baby, like it or not.

I'm so sick of reading all the " oh! It's my parents fault! I didn't asked to be born!
Most parents are loving human beings that go out of their way to give their kids a great life

Mine didn't. I was abused until I ran away from home before I was barely 15 years old. But I chose to live my own life. So can you

But most parents didn't put you on this world to be miserable.

Maybe some people should take responsibility for their own lives instead of pointing their finger to what is an easy way out

You're an adult. Maybe it's time to put on your big boy/ girl pants .

Believe me I'm so happy for you BUT NOT ALL OF US CAN DO THAT SO DONT TALK ABOUT IT LIKE ITS SO EASY

And for real
WE DIDNT ASK TO BE BORN

WHY WOULD I FIGHT FOR A LIFE THAT I DIDNT WANT TO BE IN? My parents gave birth to me carelessly in a shitty situation and I HAVE TO FIGHT? I HAVE TO FIX THEIR HUGE MISTAKE OR I WILL BE A CRYBABY?

that's why people keep having babies in shitty life situations or ditching or abusing them carelessly, because of you people SHAMING US AND MAKING IT OUR MISTAKE THAT OUR LIFE IS MISERABLE NOW AND EXPECTING US ALL TO MAKE OUR LIFE PERFECT IN THESE SHITTY SITUATIONS WITH THIS SHITTY MENTAL STATE AND WITH THIS SHITTY BACKGROUND WE CAME FROM and they just get away with their fault

so irritating UGH

I hear your point and agree on some level that sure, parents don't necessarily have ill intentions when they have kids. That's just what they are supposed to do.

however, I think it's both true that they didn't do it on purpose and that I can blame them for putting me here. I also take responsibility for things I have caused for myself. But ultimately I wouldn't have to go through this awful mess and have it be so hard to get out if it weren't for them.

And just to include, I have "wonderful" parents. They did some questionable things that fucked me up growing up but they provide for me and love me.

I just don't think it needs to be one or the other. Both are true. They meant well and it's their fault, it's by their choice that im here.

I decided a long time ago that I would never have kids because I don't want them to have my shitty genes or bring another human into this shitty world. I wasn't even planned, my mother should've aborted me. My parents were terrible parents, they had no business bringing children into this world. Selfish. I would also sue them if I could.

Raphael is a really funny and interesting character and he raises a lot of good points. I don't agree with AN, but I absolutely sympathise with his frustrations about being born into a world replete with suffering, and I'm glad he's doing what he's doing - making some noise about the problems of existence, and making people think about it. I think the lawsuit is a bit extreme though, and something like that would cause me personally a lot of stress, but his parents seem cool about it somehow so I guess no harm no foul. As a publicity stunt it's certainly very effective and it's really what has brought him into the spotlight I think, so maybe in a way something that extreme was necessary in terms of exposure.

Literally did not ask for this-ever. I didn't want to be born, living is suffering
I believe in the existince of a soul. So one chooses to be born or not.

But besides that, most parents don't get children just to let them suffer. There are many parents on this forum, I don't think any of them thought " let's have kids, to torcher them'

For questions like these I usually use the google news search.
Just put his name in and see what pops up, its ordered chronologically.
I do the same for everything related to Julian Assange.
Works pretty well.

If parents really procreate out of empathy, then they would accept their child as they are. But instead, many despise their child for being gay, trans, because of their gender, for not being very intelligent, for having mental illness, for not being able to get a job and son on.

If parents really breed because they think the world is beautiful and life is a gift, then they should at least support their children forever, at least so they can free them from a life of slavery in this oppressive capitalism.

But no, they would never do that, they just want their children to work their whole life and take care of them when they get old. They also want they children to give them some pride by getting a decent job because they want to show their children as trophies to other parents.

Procreation is 100% an act of selfishness and narcissism

While the article is pretty light-hearted in tone, the subject brought up is no light matter.

Just like him I had this vague sense of antinataliam at a very young age, and decided long ago that I will never ever participate in bringing a child to this world in any manner.

What I am gonna say might come as an offence or a slap in the face to many parents, I apologize in advance. Yet to me it is undeniable that most of those who give birth should be condemned severely. I used to agree that it's all about children didn't consent to being born, but as I thought more about it, I came to my own conclusion that it is about the parents either causing damage intentionally or being reckless. An obvious example is those who are pure evil, give birth for whatever selfish or even disgusting reasons. A less obvious example is those who are poor and/or who have genetic illnesses. Then there are those who have unrealistic expectations, like thinking a child would fill their hole or thinking they could make it work baselessly. Finally there are those who truly believe they have something to offer with a little backup but fall short of.

I compare the above as driving. The first kind of parents are out for kill, the second one is those drink/drug and drive, the third one is those who never inspect their car, put duck tape on it instead of repairing, headlights always off etc., the forth one is those who barely passed the driving license and go straight to Highway 17 without preparation. All of which always end up with third parties suffered.

Just because they are giving life instead of taking it doesn't exempt the duty they carry. Many parents would be jailed or even given death penality if the same standard for killing was applied to giving birth.
