putting this here in case anyone has the same problem or something similar.
I suffer from capgras (imposter) syndrome. It mostly effects my pets but sometimes it can cause problems with loved ones. So what I did with my friend is picked a safe word or phrase that had meaning to us and only us would know. I told him the safe word or phase I picked during a time when it wasn't acting up so I knew it was him. Thankfully I haven't needed it often, but I think this is a good idea and I'm hopeful it can help someone else who might be having a similar problem. (sorry if you are
