Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

There may be a "bias" working here. Like, the only people who come back and talk on the forum about surviving are the ones who aren't badly damaged. It seems a no brainer that you shouldn't take this stuff unless you do wish to die. This isn't an item to use as a cry for help or some such. On the other hand, if you do change your mind immediately after taking it, it is POSSIBLE that you can be saved. BTW, people can also be saved after taking N, which also works via hypoxia. You can find reports of failed suicide attempts with either of these on Pubmed.
i've tried many suicide attempts, none of them being cries for help (hanging, drowning/hypothermia/going over a dam, and SN) and the SN was the one that nearly got me. surprisingly i have no known damage from SN and it's been a year and a half. the only damage i've obtained from these is that i developed tics from my hanging attempt due to mild brain damage and that's all. if there's a higher power they really are trying hard on me bc all of these should have killed me or left serious damage
It made a pre-existing problem worse? I was looking at the methylene blue side effects and saw it can interact with some meds to cause serotonin syndrome and has cardiovascular side effects kinda similar to SN, actually. It's definitely not a benign "nothing" type situation to have this stuff injected.

I did NOT mean to imply that your attempt was a "cry for help"! I apologize for my poor wording, when I think I really just meant to agree with your basic premise.
Just basic physiologic knowledge. I am a MD. How do you think death occurs? It is not a binary switch (healthy alive and dead the next second). There is other results in between. Some organs are very resilient but sadly brain cells are the most vulnerable to hipoxia.
I agree with Ethereal Knight. It would be a difficult diagnostic and even knowing the cause right away the result would depend on so many variables (especially time since ingestion, dose, disponibility of antidote).
I still dont know why someone in this forum would want a antidote. If he/she dont want to die why use this nasty but effective method. I am considering SN myself but I my goal is succesfully ctb, rather try my luck for get in the ICU.
Yes, SN is lethal in large amount. Probably you would die even with medical assistance. There is little literature about it because is a new and uncommon method but at least one case survived a 15 g dose.
There is always risk of multiorgan damage if you survive in both methods because of severe hipoxia.
I dont like SN, It is not a painless death and give you time to seek help. Nembutal doses are best known and is a more reliable method. I would go for two bottles just in case. I cant get it though, so probably would go for phenobarbital.

I dont understand why some says if you survive with medical assitance u will not have any sequela. Your organs including your brain isnt getting enough oxygen and literally dying. You will have to live with the consequenses or multiple organ failure. This is why I dont like that SN has an antidote.
Nooope. I survived SN and I was almost dead when I got to the hospital. A day later I was able to walk around. No lasting effects at all. Methylene blue clearly works just fine, and I guess it's reassuring to know that if you change your mind quickly enough, you'll be fine. Once you take it you still have around 15 minutes of full consciousness to think things over.

15 to 40 minutes of nausea, vomiting, dizzyness, severe headache, etc before blacking out. I will probably panick and call for help even if was 100% convinced to ctb prior intake. So the existence of an antidote is not reassuring for me, on the contrary.
Only who survived with no significant damage can post here. We dont even know if the users who dont post anymore are alive, dead or with severe brqin damage. If I wasn't sure i would just wait another day.
How much do you intake? How much do you weight? Can you relate your syntoms and times since ingestion?

All I had was mild nausea before blacking out. I don't think there's any cases of permanent damage from SN, at least not that I can find. I took 20g of SN, weighing 75KG. Mild nausea around 15 minutes after taking it, then passed out in a further 20 minutes. If you think you will panic and call for help then maybe reconsider CTBing at all. What better methods are there? With every other method you have to deal with your SI, and if you panic from ingesting salt then you would definitely panic putting a rope around your neck or standing on a bridge etc.
Sodium azide seems better, as there is no antidote. And cyanide is hard but fast. I have looked in chemical stores and I am surprised that azide is more expensive than cyanide (per 100g). Uncertainty sucks. It almost sounds better to fall from 200 meters

I think something faster but more painful. From faster and more painful: cyanide; secondly azide and lastly SN. The most "peaceful" of the inorganic salts. Read the peaceful pill manual in the resources section. There you will find more information.

Here is another person who was taken to the hospital and survived. It looks like he kept more of it down and had more time elapse before going to the hospital.
Case. We report a case of severe methemoglobinemia due to sodium nitrite poisoning. A 28-year-old man was brought to our emergency department because of transient loss of consciousness and cyanosis. He was immediately intubated and ventilated with 100% oxygen. A blood test revealed a...

You will note this part. They DID find that something happened to his brain. No way to know whether or not this would be reversible or cause problems for him. Oops. Seeing they did say he was discharged on day 7 "without neurologic impairment." Maybe it was reversible?
"Cranial T2-weighted MRI findings 3 days after sodium nitrite ingestion were similar to those in carbon monoxide poisoning. It has been reported that the globus pallidus is most susceptible to hypoxia. Severe methemoglobinemia can cause severe tissue hypoxia similar to that in carbon monoxide poisoning; this may explain the involvement of the globus pallidus in our case."
So in my non-expert opinion, we should definitely NOT say that people are GUARANTEED no bad effects if the stuff is reversed. It certainly appears possible, but it's not guaranteed. Possibly in that moment when you change your mind you don't care about the potential for bad effects. But overall, do NOT do this (or any method) unless you are positive.
