I could've never imagined how effective cancer sticks could be at making things feel okay. I've started smoking recently, figured if I'm already probably going to CTB it wouldn't make sense to worry about my lung health.

Holy shit. I get it now. It's like flipping a switch. All the guilt, all the stress just washes away. Life is suddenly worth living.

Not a single prescription medication has worked this well. Not one. Now, I feel like I can actually function. I know now I'm going to be doing this for the rest of my life. I don't even care. The only reason I'm even going to limit my usage is so it doesn't lose efficiency, that's my main concern now.

Is it absolutely bad for my health? Absolutely. It's also the only thing that works. I've taken to it so naturally it's insane, although I've been exposed to secondhand smoke all my life, so maybe my body is already used to it.

I'll probably start taking more care of myself to counteract the health effects, so I won't be losing my breath every 3 seconds. Shit, maybe it ends up being good for me. Does anyone else feel this way?

When I first started smoking, I was just like you, but eventually I got to a point where the nicotine didn't do anything for me anymore. For a while, I only smoked the cigarettes as a form of internal self-harm because I loved burning up my lungs. I only quit because I lost interest, but I will say that my favorite cigarettes when I used to smoke were American Spirits. Holy shit, those felt as good as weed! I imagine if I bought a pack today after having not smoked for a while, they would probably feel very good again, so maybe soon I will buy a pack just to see.

I too have been exposed to second hand smoke and when I was younger I used to hate it, but now I kinda love it. I love the smell, and I love the way I feel when I breathe in a cloud. Only thing I do that affects me as well as nicotine affects you now is drink whiskey. Holy shit do I love that! It might taste horrible, but as long as I have a chaser of a pop that I like, the buzz feels super nice. I just try to make sure I don't drink when I know I have to drive soon, but when I have nowhere to go for a while, whiskey it is!

i wish nicotine did something to me. i smoked for 3+ years and felt nothing except some mild high that was worth it only in combination with caffeine and burning in larynx and discomfort in lungs all day after smoking session. also it's expensive, cigarette butts littered my room and i felt like shit after chainsmoking so i quit that. weeks before i quit i started putting out cigarettes on myself to extract as much "value" from smoking as possible bc it became boring

Except when it does not do anything for you anymore. Then you are a financial and physical slave to your addiction with the lovely side effect of constantly coughing. I have yet to hear anyone with a smoking habit genuinely say it has improved their life long term.

I started depending on nicotine too, but not cigarettes/vaping. I use it to try and get myself addicted to various tasks I want to do. Doesn't always work, but it helps keep me doing them at least.

Yes, coffee + cigarette in the morning after a great sleep is the best thing ever. Sadly the rest of the day the cigs will not be as good, except maybe the one after dinner or the one during a break at your job.
