I'm making a video before I go. I want to expose what Islam really did to me

I'm planning to end things soon. But before I do, I want to film a long video. Not for attention. Not for help. Just to say what I never could.

I was born Muslim. Raised in a strict Arab family. And Islam destroyed my mind before I even knew what was happening. The guilt. The shame. The fear of hell. The constant lies I had to tell myself just to survive.

When I finally read the texts without the sugarcoating—without the 'interpretations'—I felt sick. Aisha was a child. Slavery is halal. Women are property. Apostates must die.

This isn't 'extremism'. This is Islam.

I'm not here to convince anyone. I just want to say it once, clearly, before I leave. If you're still believing, I'm not asking you to stop. I'm just asking you to look. Really look.

It's very sad that you decided to go because the world needs more muslims like you maybe then muslim terror would stop. I live in Germany and we have a huge muslim problem in fact it's all over europe. I hope more see the truth and realize how terrible this religion really is and abandon it or reform it into something that is nice. I talked to ex-muslims before and they are happy now as atheists some even picked another religion that is about love and empathy.

the issue with most religions, including islam, is that a lot of believer do not believe what the text says, they never read them, but what the religious authority tells them to believe, while maybe using some parts of the text and reinterpretting it. The one who do read the texts were often forced to study it by heart, and kind of brainwashed to the point where they agree even the worst atrocities. See how it went with the catholic church in its history, how some christians founded their own thing (protestant church) because the pope and all his followers were twisting the thing. reforming does not seem to be an option and becoming atheist could result in severe isolation as you'd get rejected from you family and believer friend, op might have no other choice

I'm sorry for you :-( Unfortunately we were all born with lies and ideologies. I think that religion should be chosen by each individual in adulthood and not imposed upon them at birth. I'm not anti-religion (I used to go to church). But ideologies causes too much wars, too much suffering (especially all the crimes in the Middle East). And if it's nor religion, it's political (living in totalitarian countries is the same problem).
I'll watch your video because your point of view as a muslim seems very interesting.

She's a 20 year old American Muslim woman who has completely devoted herself to not only practicing her faith but fighting for it. Her content revolves around her debating Christians and non-believers. She's intelligent, confident, and rhetorically effective, and many would say uniquely so, which stands in stark contrast, according to your perspective, with the female-exclusive cage from which you seek relief.

You might be wondering what the purpose of this comment is. I know this is not the "Recovery" section, but the crux of my point is this: You shouldn't center whether you live or die around the supposed immorality of the religion you were born into, since Islam isn't going anywhere. In fact, it's growing quite rapidly, as is illustrated, for example, here: https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2015/04/02/muslims/.

However, you can do something about it if you zoom out a bit. If you want to help women who you regard as being victimized by this religion, it's worth studying the conditions in society that predispose women to becoming Muslim, which involve plenty more than just familial circumstances. It's worth devoting yourself to feminism. There's more to be done here in life than in death.

Islam is deeply hostile toward women. There are so many texts and hadiths that Muslims hide from you. You have no idea they exist, but they are applied in Arab countries.

The real Islam is terrifying.

The Prophet married a 9-year-old girl. Not to mention, he had 14 wives. And on top of that, Islam clearly calls for the killing of those who leave the faith. There is a direct and explicit verse in the Qur'an commanding the execution of apostates.

The Muslims you see in Europe and America — they are美化 the religion, painting a pretty picture to make you accept it. But believe me, the real Islam is horrifying.

Islam forbids women from leaving the house without a male guardian. This is an explicit and clear teaching.

I am not against religion in general. Religions are part of human nature. They can be a true reason for people to keep living. But a religion like Islam? It's pure terror.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope this religion is exposed for what it truly is — far from false propaganda so that every person can decide for themselves with a clear and conscious mind.

Ok. I'm sorry. I think I misunderstood your point. I think I didn't agree with it being so with most religions, as to me, it's always one religion at the center of issues, which op is calling out.

Governments benefit from religion. It's a tool to control people. In the UAE, for example, they use Islam to rule. There's a verse in the Quran that tells people to obey their ruler, and that verse is taught to every citizen.

But there are other verses—frightening ones—that they hide. Because if people knew, they might leave the religion.

So believe me, every government has an interest in keeping religion alive. It keeps people like a herd, doing whatever a fake god tells them to do.

If you go to any Arab country—even Dubai, which they sell as one of the best cities in the world—you'll be shocked by the hypocrisy.

My Muslim friends do everything: they sleep around, they drink, they curse. But the moment they see a Christian or a Jew, they say: 'that cursed kafir, stay away from him.'

And me? An apostate. If they ever found out I left Islam, they'd kill me. Because the Quran commands them to.

you would be right to do everything you can about it, if it is what your guts tells you to do. Islam is really bad and i hope you are able to open the eyes of even one person

no authority of any kind has any interest in people seeing through their lies and/or stopping to believe what those same authorities told them to believe. governments basically work the same but replace 'god' with 'moral' or 'the good of everyone' and 'kufr' with 'outlaw'.

division is power and control, so we can't realise that those authorities are the real ennemies and that they don't want our wellbeing but only theirs

yes i agree with you, i live in western europe and i see worse and worse news everyday, always involving muslim who spit on my country, the one they live in and take from without giving in return. It saddens me

I am not against religion in general. Religions are part of human nature. They can be a true reason for people to keep living.

All religions impose cultural values (inherently flawed delusions) onto the population which cause suffering and deprivation, it's just a bunch of lies to help maintain the system (civilization) which is reliant on the constant indoctrination of children (this also happens in parenting and education it's not just religion). Religions aren't apart of human nature because there is nothing innate about them or civilization. I can't see why anyone would be against one religion and not the rest, though I know it has something to do with the ingrained moralization that happens to humans as a result of cultural conditioning/indoctrination.

I'm in America, and believe me, we've heard repeatedly about all those things you've mentioned about Islam, and worse (female castration). Particularly in the time following 9/11.

I hate some religions oppress people, especially because everyone should have the right to decide for themselves what they believe in.
