What are these quick and easy methods? Not everyone has access to guns and suicide by cop mostly just ends up with you detained + felony unless you're lucky.

Overdoses are very rarely able to work, hanging is not painless, and slitting your wrists has less than a 2% working rate iirc.

Yeah, you're not wrong that there are theoretically painless ways to CTB, but have you ever considered how viable these methods truly are? Or are you operating off glamorized Hollywood BS made by people who probably didn't do a single minute of research?

Plus, you're forgetting that people have lives. Some users struggle with going through with it because they have some obligation keeping them here, whether that be a lover or kids or what have you

I think this couldn't be further from the truth. Many people (including myself) have had ideation long before SaSu even existed, almost two decades, and as others have already posted, there are many variables including acquisition of reliable methods, comfortable methods, not getting caught when acquiring and all the way up until they 'attempt'. Even in the best circumstances when things are going well, there is the last obstacle (but most significant one), the biological survival/self-preservation instinct that one has to overcome to be able to go through with the act.

I mean SI is always a given. The gunshot will at least almost surely knock you out due to impact. I have attempted before several times but it was through short suspension hanging which is basically a useless method for 90 so I don't know if it counts

i have a shotgun and rifle . but idk i guess si and massive brainwashing of me and i fear exploding my own head.

aiming a gun at your own head and exploding it is very difficult . i think it takes a lot of courage. even worse putting in your mouth. shooting a gun is like a bomb exploding in your hands not like it is in the movies.

the main thing stopping me is i fear flinching and remaining alive with brain damage and or disfigured. i think it's a low probability of failing but it's scary as shit.

i thought of that . but people would hear the shot and might be able to get me to the ER hospital if the shot doesn't instantly kill me . so the hanging and the SN would be useless because they would stop the hanging and leave me with brain damage if the gunshot doesn't kill me . so it's basically a very rushed and complicated gun shot method. people that haven't shot guns don't know how loud it is . that's why they wear ear protection.

it's very difficult and very expensive for me to find an isolated spot 1 mile away from any human as i'm very disabled . idk if SN and shooting would work if i somehow manage to find and get to an isolated area . idk if i'll be able to have time to aim and get myself to work up to shooting myself after drinking SN . idk if it would cause instant nauseu for example . it would be different it were just the gun shot . 2 methods complicates things terribly and i've just put some of the problems i thought of. with just the gun i can take my time and aim and shoot when or if i can get myself to pull the trigger. if i drink sn in some unknown outdoor location i would be more rushed and idk if drinking Sn would make me instantly nauseua or instant vomit for example .

Honestly, I thought the same as you. The others can mope all they want and defend wanting to die (until they literally die) but I don't think anyone wants that. After all the good things they've seen in this world--nature, culture (music, art, etc.), nobody wants to immediately dig a six foot hole in the ground for themselves.

When someone has decided to give up, they've had their mental well-being crushed. From a chronic illness, from trauma, from abuse, from all the terrible things in the world that befell them which they aren't even responsible of receiving.

And who are we to stop them? Maybe we've only seen a small extent of the horrors they must experience everyday. I woudn't put suicide past people who have been in wars, people who have struggled with a mental illness for years and saw no other resort to it anymore, and those who are terminally/chronically sick.

I would heavily go against people who are here because they do not have the emotional capacity to see any other solution but dying. The site runners made me a bit iffy by opening the suicide thread for public viewing for new users instead of barring them from it until after 30 days of account activity in recovery threads and "new user" thread.

Anyways, this dude just has an opinion and the mass just fucking trashed on him. wtf. I thought this forum is friendly. OP didn't even try to trash on suicidal people.

This sums up the survival instinct, but also lots of relevant information about the firearms method. I have fired guns before at a gun range, and even with just pistols, it is incredibly loud (the pressure wave hits too and reverberates especially indoors), and it isn't even a hand cannon (magnums or large calibers) just regular standard 9mm semi-auto pistols. I still prefer the firearms method due to it's reliability and quick albeit messy and brutal aftermath.
