I have been poor, I have been homeless, and now I am quite well off. I can confidently say that the money has not fixed ne. It makes taking care of my basic needs much easier but no amount of money will fix how broken my brain is.

Is there anything you like or are passionate about that you could use the wealth towards? Maybe it could be small steps. But I don't know your situation at all obviously.

So I was using my money to help some of my less well off friends so i could feel some sort of purpose, but it didn't end well.

My only other passion is cooking/culinary arts but that's basically it. I don't think I'd deserve culinary school if I'm just going to kill myself anyway... usually I make large or very nice meals and just give it away to friends.

Thank you! I still think I would ctb whether I went to culinary school or not. I can't even hold a job because my head is too screwy to really function. Still, cooking is very fun. It's a good way to have control over something so it's calming

Money doesn't buy support for very long unfortunately. Most private hospitals and private therapists will no longer work with me, because of my risk - so I'm in the same place as any one else in the UK who has to rely on the NHS.

Yes. No amount of money in the world would cure my chronic illness, although it would make life a bit more comfortable.

I think it would definitely help me in the short term. I mostly want to die to escape having to work or do chores the majority of the time to sustain life.

I can still enjoy things. If I had more financial freedom to do so, I think that would take a great weight off of me.

I would have to win the money though really. If I earnt it, I'd still be feeling the need to work hard to maintain that job. If someone gave me that money, I would feel guilty and beholden to them.

But- I think I could be happy- at least in the short term- living NEET. Longer term though- I'm not so sure. I may well become bored. Plus, money won't stop old age and illness.

yes because being rich can still mean that you are depressed or still have adhd bad. money doesn't buy you happiness either. it can just make your life more difficult.

It seems clear that having money and wealth is no protective shield against being suicidal. It perhaps helps with all the details, the problems, the lack, fear and worry, but the impulse...or the actual taking of one's own life...seems like there are plenty on this thread who say they have more than enough and still are suicidal.

i come from old money. if it did, i would have bought a cure if i could motivate myself. i always wanted to live in a beautiful villa by myself in my last days somewhere nice and victorian
