• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Just TOTALLY paranoid from the locked-in syndrome thing. It is literally the only thing stopping me from CTB.

Is the locked-in syndrome exclusively caused by oxygen deprivation to the brain?

I didn't even know this was something that was documented. Great. One more thing to be horrified about.

in theory its possible but its unlikely, locked in syndrome is usually caused by damage to the pons (which is in the brainstem) while the midbrain and cerebral cortex are "fine" its usually caused by stokes, TBI that effect the brainstem specifically, and certain diseases/infections

jumping is more associated with cervical spine fractures which can cause problems with respiration and leave you paralysed, as well as broken bones + organ rupture, lis requires isolated damage to the pons, while jumping causes blunt force trauma, theoretically you could potentially get it from a jump if you landed in a way which led to a stroke, but its unlikely
