If you learn to cook 4-5 dishes really well, it can really liven up the atmosphere of a house. Hurt people hurt people, misery loves company etc. And if they keep being abusive you can threaten to cut them off, it really turns the tables around when normally they are threatening to kick you out.

If you are lonely, cooking is an excellent way to attract the opposite sex.

Cooking signifies you are able to work a little to make your future self happier. It is the first step to helping yourself and gives a real reward.

suggested tasty but easy recipes:

pasta, tomato with hamburger or alfredo with shrimp
japanese curry
tuna casserole

instant pot and slowcooker recipes are great, I use this recipe for instant pot creamy italian chicken https://www.thereciperebel.com/creamy-italian-instant-pot-chicken-breasts/

Pork chops are also very good in an instant pot.

That's a good idea and I used to cook for a lot of people. When I'm in distress like now I'm not really thinking about anything except getting my own place and restarting my life maybe.

I love your thinking. The power of food.

I am currently well enough to cook for myself - and today made myself something that was tasty! When I can function, I love to cook.

I live alone. Cooking for one is unjustifiably expensive and either forces me to eat the same meal every day in a week or throw most of the ingredients away.

I love this. My mom was/ is (I don't live with her anymore) physically and emotionally (but only emotionally once I got older) abusive. She never cooked and we ate out alot which is really bad for you. Once I got a job and could pay for food, I started cooking to eat healthier and it "improved" our relationship. Though the child making the effort shouldn't need to be necessary, it helped and she rarely ever bothered me in the kitchen since she couldn't cook. I've learned how to make American, French, Korean, Filipino, Japanese and African dishes because of this. Next up is Indian food (they are the masters of spice and aromatics).

I'm also excited about the dating part although I've decided I'll never be fit to date anyone. It's just a fun thing that takes my mind off the world for a while and it's fun to imagine feeding others one day.
