CTB regardless
why trusting science for all our troubles while science cant solve your problems. if science was that trustworthy you wouldn't decide to CTB out of despair.
Science this, and science that, and science still haven't solved our problems.

or me lack of afterlife and just ceasing to exist would be preferable but if the afterlife was like my ideal version of afterlife then honestly i wouldnt mind that too

if the afterlife sucked then honestly ill die someday anyway so ctb either way. at this point anythings better than continuing to live

I'm hoping for no afterlife. I'm fine with eternal nothingness when I CTB.

The problem with an afterlife is it is so often bound up with religion. Which religion is right? Which INTERPRETATION of religion is right? If I KNEW I'd end up in hell or purgatory for CTB- yes- it would put me off. Honestly, I'm not keen on the idea of ANY afterlife though. If it has the same designer as this planet, I hope we get the option to opt out.

I'm a Catholic, I believe in an afterlife and I'm probably going to hell. Either for ctb or being trans, take your pick.

I can only find out if there's afterlife or not after I CTB :halo:

We will all find out whether there is an afterlife or not, but you will find out whether your suicide has any consquences.

I do very strongly believe that we just cease to exist after this and if it was guaranteed 100% that this will happen then I would be very comforted by this fact, but if there was some kind of afterlife could it really be worse than existing in this hellish world. I doubt it, so I believe that ctb will be the preferable option no matter what. And anyway if there was some kind of afterlife, we will have to face it someday so I guess that to me delaying the inevitable would be pointless.

Im as certain as possible there is no afterlife...even if there was the omnipotent god who allows babies to die due to a lack of food would be in no position to judge ya
The idea of reincarnation and there being a God/creator have no relationship to each other

if i knew there was an afterlife and this life had a purpose, i wouldn't ctb since i fear being reborn over and over again.
if this life is the only one we have, i would ctb instantly, why even caring if its all meaningless, would do some drugs, hug those who helped me and then i would ctb..

what would you do?sorry about the grammar, is it were or was?thx @TimeToBiteTheDust

I would ctb regardless of whether or not there is an afterlife. If I knew for certain there was an afterlife that was better than here, I would ctb sooner.

Well, I'm100% sure that there is no afterlife, so that fact means little in regarding my decision to CTB

Near-death experiences (NDEs) are a phenomenon where individuals who have been close to death report having a range of experiences, including feelings of peace and detachment from the body, a sense of moving through a tunnel, and encountering a bright light or a being of light. Some people who have had NDEs also report having experiences that they interpret as evidence of an afterlife, such as encountering deceased loved ones or having a sense of transcendence.

The study of near-death experiences began in the 1970s with the work of Dr. Raymond Moody, who published a book called "Life After Life" in 1975, in which he discussed the experiences of people who had been close to death. Since then, many other researchers have studied NDEs and have attempted to explain them through physiological or psychological means.

One theory is that NDEs are a result of changes in brain function that occur during a near-death event, such as decreased blood flow to the brain or changes in the levels of certain chemicals. Another theory is that NDEs are a result of psychological factors, such as expectations or a coping mechanism for dealing with the trauma of a near-death event.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross was a Swiss-American psychiatrist, a pioneer in near-death studies, and the author of the groundbreaking book "On Death and Dying", in which she first discussed the concept of the five stages of grief. She also wrote extensively on the subject of NDEs, in which she described them as a "transcendental experience" and argued that they provide evidence of an afterlife. However, her work on NDEs was not based on scientific research and her theories were not widely accepted by the scientific community.

It's important to note that NDEs are still not fully understood and the theories about their causes are still debated. The study of NDEs is a complex and multidisciplinary field, and more research is needed to fully understand the phenomenon.

If I knew hell was real I would change my mind instantly, an eternity of suffering isn't worth it. One of the only things stopping me from just doing it is the small chance of me being punished in the after life (if there even is one).

I want there to be nothing, just cease to exist simply bang, nothing. The idea of going through this shit show again is horrifying. I don't want an afterlife, I hated this one, I was hated, why would I want it to go on in any form.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and declare that I already know - 100% - there is no afterlife.

Why would there be?

Humans and their incessant (and pathetic) need to be acknowledged, remembered and live forever. Pffft.

If I'm wrong, then I promise to come back and find a way to let you all know.
