I wish I was born in rural Ireland :) I've been there & it was wonderful, so much wide open spaces of greenery, with cute hills, and the people were nice and friendly!

Contrary to what some of you believe through gossip, the USA FUCKING SUCKS!! This IS a shithole country! There is no healthcare here, no mental healthcare here, we are all debt slaves, we do not have any say in how our politics are run, children starve, homelessness and sexual deviants are rampant, ignorance is pushed and welcomed, we are not in control of our own food, we have been manipulated into hating each other as countrymen, our economy is a joke, our news agencies are LEGALLY allowed to lie to us and use propaganda, and it's MALEVOLENCE is only increasing from here forward. Oh, and our armies as a whole are nothing more than mercenaries who deploy where the bank sends them to to kill people who are NOT any threat to the well being of the US population! Did I miss anything? There are very good things and people here but you have to understand that that is all part of the joke. Football player salary:15 million. Money for starving children in that same city: 0 (zero) bucks. Did I mention the HIGHEST prison population in this world? Don't let the weak and ignorant facade take away from the glamorous and blissful interiors of our absolutely torn up country.

I was born in Scotland but raised from a young age in England.. I wouldn't have it any other way. Scotland is in my blood and when I go back I feel like I can breathe.

If I get to live as a normal person and not a genetically broken individual, anywhere, really.

The US has always been a dream of mine, such a vast, beautiful country, even with all its issues.

Israel. As a citizen of that one you get to do anything without any consequences. You can move to another country , commit major crimes , and then use your Israeli citizenship to protect you.

I'm fine with continuing to live in the US; if someone made me pick another country to be born in instead my gut reaction is somewhere in Eastern Europe. Maybe Romania.

Now if you were to ask me which country I would choose to suddenly gain dual citizenship in tomorrow, my answer is definitely Belgium for reasons that could probably be guessed.

Switzerland, Holland or Austria. In fact a great-grandfather of mine was Austrian. I only look like him in stature.

I love Scotland. I traveled 3 weeks there years ago. It's beautiful and the people are very friendly, seriously, I had a great time. I would have to add it to the list.

Hallo mein Freund. Magst du Bratwurst? (a famous german joke)
Hahah

I know a few words in German, but not enough to speak it. But I think I understand what you wrote: "Hello my friend. Do you like hotdogs?" Is this correct?

I live near London and everyone is pretty selfish and just cares about themselves, but then I've been up in the north of England and everyone is really friendly, I don't think I'd move country but just move to Liverpool or Newcastle.

Seriously. That was my experience. Kindness in the pubs, when I arrived they offered to accompany me to the hostel because I could not find it. Once I got lost in Edinburgh and a young man guided me to where I had planned to go (I was looking at the map and trying to orient myself) In the north, Inverness, I saw some more alcoholism. Very drunk people at 10 in the morning for example. But in general I really liked them. I never noticed hostility.
Yes, he knew about the Glasgow problem. I only spent 1 day there.

That case seems very specific and more like an exception rather than a rule. Of course countries are going to cover the asses of their own spies.

I'd say that Brazil is more what you're looking for.

In Brazil the government does not have as strong as an incentive to protect fellow ethnic group members. Israel has been known to go to bat to prevent extradition and allow its citizens to get away with some big crimes

in this article by haaretz which would be considered in general a pro Israel source but maybe somewhat left leaning in the context of domestic Israeli politics

...which country would you choose. I live in Germany and i try to think about the prvileges that I have. But if you don't have a job here it is difficult (as in the most countries). I probably would choose Norway, Sweden or Switzerland. Maybe Switzerland due to the euthanasia.

whatever place has the most generous social safety nets and welfare, low wealth inequality, real rights and freedoms (like decriminalized drugs, no dystopian internet laws, right to die, etc)

so probably something like the netherlands or a nordic country. switzerland is a nice place overall, clean and quiet and wealthy and free, but idk about their welfare and social programs

Be careful with some EU countries . Hate speech is being rolled out. It's a crime to criticize the moslems or other forces that will introduce dysfunction into your society.

Here in the US we have scores of groups that seek to introduce dysfunction but it's generally never a crime to criticize them.
