What song would it be? I remember asking this same question to a coworker a few days back, and his such quick response surprised me... He instantly said " 'I Am the Highway by Audioslave', you don't know how many times I've cried to that song's melody"... And it's a sick song, full of angst in chris' voice... I love it. But also made me wonder how much someone's taste in music can be shaped by their life experiences...

So, here I am asking out of curiosity. To appreciate the choice of those who are willing to share it...

(Extra text you can read, if you want):
If could be remembered with a song, I guess It'd be "First Thing" by Roland Faunte. A lot of his work(underrated) accompanied me through stressful times and his lyrics were... relatable in a unique way? This particular song always gave me a very addictive bittersweet feeling.

I always said if I had a show about my life, I'm Not Alright by Shinedown would be the theme song.

Some good power metal for a powerful themesong i see. Always nice to hear
Dunno, this one?
Now that is for sure a song to get lost into... Man, those strings sections really did it for me.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing

Very basic, BUT, I love that song. The lyrics just sound like someone deeply tired wanting to escape to something wholesome & adventurous, or regress to a state of childlike imagination and wonder. I think it's pretty & comforting.

I'd like "On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter - captures a sense of contemplation and quiet despair that I don't want people to forget.

Heyy, it's been quite a while since I last heard that song. Yeah, it definetly made me go back to childhood times and remember different people and places... Thanks for also sharing your insight on it

Mhmm, that is a tasteful guitar, got me hooked from the start. "Simple" instrumentation, but emotional complexity on each note, especially at the end. And that high range voice was really pearcing... Great song, thanks

Dude... Men I trust is such a mood... Trully nice and beautiful choice

I love it since my childhood

My maan, I was not expecting to find a fellow stalker in here at all haha... But yes, it definetly is a memorable song. Loved it as soon as I heard it.
Post edit: I was bold to assume this song was made for the game, just realized it came 2 years before. If you knew the song from before, my apologies for being so oblivious 🙌

Ohh my lord, this song is in a personal playlist and I've heard it so many times... I... genuinely understand what you mean

Preciate everyone sharing their choice and their thoughts so far. (I wasn't expecting to find this many similarities in musical taste lol)

There's so many good ones to choose from.

But last year I fell in love with the lyrics from the show, "Day of the Jackal" where in the intro song, it says,

"Some flowers never get to bloom and see the day.... some flowers are content to wish their lives away..." which feels very resonant to my situation, unfortunately.

some flowers are content to wish their lives away..
Mhmm, oh... I certainly believe our own minds can be a beautiful/comfy trap to fall into... Can't deny that...
That deep jazzy style along with her crisp beautiful voice really makes for an intoxicating combo.

I honestly might have to make a new playlist out of all these great music, no joke.
Thank you again for taking the time to share

I love songs but then, as an expression of how I feel about my life, I think it would more likely be something classical like this:

I think there's something so haunting/ slightly eerie about it. I think it also somehow expresses perceverance through difficulty- which is how I've experienced life pretty much. It's hard to explain but, this piece of music really resonates with me.

Hmm, I agree...
This piece I've also listened to a lot before... Generally speaking, I always keep a special place for classical or purely intrumental songs/ no lyrics... As most of the time they make for a very intimate and insightful experience.

It was a very good listen.
Again, thank you for taking the time and sharing.

For me it evokes that sense of always wanting something I can't get, and the desire to escape into anywhere that isn't here.

That song was pretty cool. I was intrigued by how strangely freeing the lyrics felt. Even though it can come across as pessimistic, there was something relieving about how directly it acknowledges things that are out of our control... At least that's how it came across to me.

@SiriusMan
This was... wow... I couldn't stop listening to it.
It genuinely felt like the culmination of a very long journey... haunting in a bittersweet way, almost tragic.

@Tomorrow Is Today
Man.. I'm a huge Radiohead fan, and this song gets me. I related to what you said about wanting something you can't reach and wanting to be somewhere other than where you are... this song also carries a deep sadness to me, but also a faint sense of hope... "Optimistic sadness" is probably the closest I can get to describing it.

Thanks to all of you for sharing these. I enjoyed listening to them and reading what they mean to you.

mmm... I know It may be pretty complicated to try narrow down oneself into just one song... I guess this is like a way of choosing the part of you that you'd want others to remember most?... But whatever the case, that's a pretty neat song, thanks

I used to listen to so many songs. I didn't have any breakup or anything like relationship stuff but still I will choose back to black - Amy Winehouse.

I don't know why her voice feels so so soothing, like a hug.

I think thing that I like the most about music is the fact that you don't necessarily need lyrics for sound alone to be able to evoke deep emotions or memories inside of us...

And yeah. I agree, Amy did have such a beautiful voice...

This was a hit in the summer I was born and it would be great to end my life with. It sounds melancholic and a real exit song to me.

Maybe "Chubina" by East Duo, its apparently a Georgian Folk song but everytime I hear it my mind just stops thinking. The song is comprised of a Panduri (traditional 3-stringed acoustic lute from Eastern Georgia) and an electric bass guitar, and while it doesn't have any words, I genuinely see an image of someone seeing their entire life in 2 minutes after ctb. While you probably don't recognize the name, it got viral on social media as a background music to different posts. You most likely won't, but if you can spare 2 minutes, try giving the song a listen.
