I would not do anything because according to me,doing anything before death is also pointless. It won't be as though i would reminisce in the void about how i had my desires fulfilled before death. etcetc

Read this

But when i ask people, they say,if i had only 6 months to live i would do so many things.I would go on vacation, travel etc etc
To them i say doing all these b4 death is also pointless. You will not reminisce about having done all these after death.
You will remember none of these after death

It's subjective. It may be pointless for you. For me it's to experience (i.e. traveling) places etc before I die. It's not about remembering after death. It's to experience and try things. It's death that makes life meaningful.

to them i say,bro doing all these before death is also pointless since after death you wil have no recollection of this life experience.

It won't be as though you would reminisce in the void after you death about how you had all of your desires fulfilled etc etc
The journey is irrelevant if the destination is void

but what would be the point of doing all these before you die if you will have no recollection of these life experience after you die

But I will be able to remember them while still alive, and that is the point. The Reddit post you link to talks about how it does not matter if you live to 75 as you are going to not remember anything after you die. This is true but that is 75 years to make memories and enjoy experiences. The reason of "we are all going to die anyway, so it does not matter", is a lousy reason to not do anything while you are alive, IMO.

It's not about death. It's to experience while still alive. Eating favorite foods, seeing sunsets. Just because I'm going to die doesn't mean I'm living like I'm dead. I might be on this site but I don't lock myself in a room and feel sorry for myself all day. I go enjoy a burger, etc because life could end at any time.

I'm guessing you are suffering from anhedonia maybe- so don't get much pleasure out of doing stuff anyway?

Put it another way though- would you rather eat your favourite food now or put your fingers in a mouse trap? Why does it matter which you picked after you're dead? Your fingers will stop hurting then. Would you prefer to smell a rose or rotten eggs? Neither of them matter in the grand scheme of things.

I'd assume most people navigate towards pleasurable things though. Not everyone needs for something to be deeply meaningful and eternal for it to bring them pleasure.

As for me- I'd quit work, buy a new console and play games for days on end. Enjoy my favourite foods. Maybe visit a few places and enjoy the experience of having senses- while I have them. It doesn't matter to me that these things aren't deeply meaningful and are transient. I'd still enjoy them.

The problem I have with life is that all these things cost money. And I'm tired of having to work for a few crumbs of pleasure.

It will matter while you are alive, but after death i will have no memories of this experience,so i will just sit back and pass my time.

For me, if my body is still functioning, travel around the world for a couple of months, make sure my scholarship is set up, donate money to charities , like food shelves, I already donate food to one, and lastly donate my body to medical science.

You've just answered your own question I think. We would do these things because they mattered in the moment- while we are alive.

Of course, if your enjoyment or non enjoyment of things hinges entirely on it's meaningfulness then- fair enough- why bother doing things you don't find meanigful/ satisfying?

And- it's down to preference too. Some people would genuinely prefer to do nothing. Others would want to sky dive, learn to paint or visit Australia or whatever.

Again though- for many people I imagine- the fact that something is pointless in the grand scheme of things doesn't diminish the dopamine/ endorphin rush they receive from doing it in the present monent.

I suppose I find it more curious that it seems to upset/ annoy you that people would choose to have their own version of fun in their last six months. Why does it matter what they do? It's meaningless anyway- like you say. It won't make a difference in six months time.

They will probably still insist though- that they were happier in those six months leading up to death- than you. Which again- won't matter eventually but- right now- it matters to them. Would you prefer it if they sit at home and do nothing too? But then- why? Why would it matter to you what they chose to do? Is it annoying that some people find meaningless things fun?

because in the grand scheme of things,it is pointless;
so doing all of these fun activities is also pointless.
they will not remember having done any of those fun activities after their death

I would quit my job. Not because I hate it, because I know how incompetent I am and wish to stop burdening them. Idk how I'm not already fired.
I would spend most of the remainder of my life playing video games and doing other loser things

I firmly believe that this life is one of many that I will experience. Now rather I remember this or any life, cannot give an answer on that.

But I believe in a higher power and the ability to live beyond the stars and beyond that even.

Always remember, see with one's mind, NOT with one's eyes.

I have all my life seen too many who either cannot or will not see, read envision, anything that is basically not right in front of them.

Well, if it brings someone pleasure/joy/happiness then why not? I mean, if one's going down anyway then why not go down happy? Sounds better than 6 months of wallowing in misery.
Won't apply to me, at this point at least, since i can't find any joy bringing activities atm but for others? If it makes you happy, go for it.
As for afterlife - i sincerely hope there's none. At least not one where i'd remember this one. If it's carte blanche - i don't care.

Sadly I'd still likely be depressed & exceedingly miserable as all the joy was sucked out of me years ago. Would like to think I'd make the effort to do something "enjoyable" but in reality I'd most likely be counting down the days until the fantastic last day ever appears then I'd rejoice.
