• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Money. Fame. Sex. Success. The most pleasure. The most attention. The most pain. The best outer appearance. Health. Logevity. Happiness. Intelligence.

What is your answer?

I rather not compare myself and my life to life of others, because it makes me miserable.

To be respected in my 'profession'. To create things that I'm happy with and that bring joy to others. So- I suppose that entails competition against others and myself.

I'm very much in the middle of the race in terms of achievement but, that's ok really. I've learnt to be happier with that. A medium fish in a small pond is fine.

That at least used to feel like my purpose in life. That's faded the past few years. I still do my best but, the spark has gone. Now, it's really just about trying to stay afloat financially without having to return to some God awful retail job.

When I was younger, it was all achievement in my career, a partner. Never really wanted fame, money, multiple sexual partners. I'm afraid I took and take my health for granted mostly when I have it. Always thought I'd die young. Knew I didn't have the brains for intelligence or the looks to be considered attractive. I suppose we all kind of hope to turn out happy. Wishful thinking really.

How about you OP?

I really don't know. I do feel like it is a competitive game, but everyone seems to be playing by some shared rule-book that i am incapable of comprehending

I try to base the foundation of my life on multiple pillars. Enough money, good intelligence to have good conversations, looks to be confident about my appearance, I try to avoid taking my health for granted. Good sex would be nice.

I think I never wanted fame per se.

Control. It's all about control. The people that win are the ones that rig the game for themselves by controlling it. If one controls destiny, what there is to lose?

What is control? Money is probably the best answer for the modern world, but this is a complex concept with a lot of nuance.

I wish it wasn't, really. But my mind and all its rationalizations point to that. I try to live my life as a loser who's happy with whatever they got.

Good principle really. Have eggs in multiple baskets. Then, hopefully one of them will be doing ok at any given time. I totally ignored that advice.

I don't know, but a general pattern I see is that people only want more than the person next to them. The competition is relative to what others around you are fighting for. Which is kind of ironic since the more you want, the more duties and the more things you imprison yourself with. Unfortunately we live in a world where this behaviour is expected for a person to survive.

I believe that the primary drive of all humans is to impose themselves onto others.

To move above the first tier of Maslow's hierarchy of needs one must do this to some extent. The higher one is on the hierarchy the more they impose on others, hence self actualization being the highest tier. My understanding of the term self actualization may be too literal, but from what I have read it seems to be the process of making your internal existence align with your external existence. It is the most selfish act one can undertake, and we are all equally guilty of striving for it. If we were not we would essentially be amoebae.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their bowl of word salad, haha.

I think the millionaires are probably just about who has the most money, the biggest real estate, the fastest cars, and the strongest power
