If I can’t get SN from MIC, I will synthesis it

I found MIC. Haven't messaged sellers yet.

But I've been reading lots of stories on how people are struggling to get sellers to mislabel.

I always had in the back of my mind that if I couldn't buy it, I would try synthesis it.

I still have to do a little more studying but I think I finally found a decent way to make it.

Only suspicious thing I have to buy is a specific fertilizer, and I only see it on lab websites online, but I think that would be fine.

One problem I could run into is purity. But I would test the purity with the aquarium strips. Not sure how accurate this would work out to be tho.

I hope you've spent at least one minute in a chemistry lab, but ideally dozens of hours, before thinking you have a chance.

If you want to message me the instructions, I can review them and check if you might blow your house up.

Also highly recommend gloves, goggles, covering all of your skin with natural fibers, and being aware of what chemical burns you're at risk of even just from spilling. Ventilation is important too. Have the poison control number before you start just in case.

I'm not going to tell you how to make it because I don't want others to make it. I don't want to be responsible for people getting SN. It's kinda the same idea as people not wanting to give sources for SN.

I don't think they sell it… I kind of like the idea of buying from a lab better just because there will be no anti-caking on it, so I don't have to filter that off, and I just feel like it will be more pure… The lab grade says its 99% which is the highest purity you can get pretty much.

I feel like it's okay because it literally is fertilizer. If my parents ask I can just tell them it's fertilizer for my bonsai tree.

It's not expensive at all. It's not like a crazy synthesis like N.

My goal is always to try my hardest to buy SN from MIC, but it's only my backup plan to make it if I cannot buy it.

I can't buy it now because I've been in the process of moving houses for like months and renovations… it's just not a good time for me to receive a sketchy package.

In the meantime I been studying on SN synthesis, just as a plan B.

Also I don't think I can buy from lab websites because I need a business/actual lab so I will have to buy the fertilizer another way which is fine…

There was a thread that went more in depth about it. Basically, it's not being sold as "sodium nitrite", but it's very pure according to the SDS, which I trust.

I have said that this is my backup plan if I can't get SN.

Yes aquarium strips can test the amount of nitrites and nitrates. It's the recommended test for purity for SN and there's a thread on it here.

I don't know what you just sent as a screenshot. I never claimed to be a chemist.

I just don't know why you were offering help on synthesis when that's not what I needed. And you made illogical claims such as warning of an explosion. There's nothing highly reactive about sodium nitrite synthesis.

I'm not necessarily confident on anything, I've said it many times that I'm okay if it doesn't workout.

This is quite a rude response to someone who is following the site etiquette. I understand if you're a newer user and you're not used to it, but it is not common for people to DM about synthesis or vendors. This is because the site is being closely monitored by the authorities and we like to keep our freedom of choice and to keep our site by not spreading ways to acquire SN recklessly.

I understand that you were trying to assist the author of this thread, but again, it is not according to SS etiquette by doing so. Please refrain from giving out help where it is not asked for, this ensures less arguments and problems on the site.
