i learned that assisted suicide is a thing but that it's mostly for people who have illnesses such as chronic pain or cancer. idk how those organizations feel about depression but i know some support it. i think canada does and germany? but my question is how do i apply for that and what are the requirements if at all? im sure money would be one and id most likely work a job until i can afford a procedure like that. but are there organizations that actually can do it for mental illnesses?

i would ctb myself but im so scared honestly. i want a method that wont hurt badly or wont fail if that makes sense. i dont want to end up with brain damage or in a mental hospital i just dk what to do. i hate living so much i hate it i want it to be over my life isnt meant to be lived.

I'm no expert but I believe mental illness is still a bit of a controversial subject within assisted suicide. Some of those clinics make a point of not accepting someone who is suicidal. Either way, I imagine you need a documented history of mental illness and treatments you have undergone and I imagine you need support from your doctor/ therapist. Have you Googled these clinics to see what their requirements are? But yeah- I'm pretty sure it's expensive. They don't make it easy by the sounds of it.

honestly researching stuff is hard for me for some reason but yeah from my attempts all ive really learned is that it's the foreign countries like outside of america that accept mental illnesses meaning id probably have to actually do a lot such as save up money, some sort of proof of living. idk. i know that they do need to go through evaluations with you and especially see if you're capable of making these decisions. and they want to know if youve already tried "everything" or not basically. sorry if my words are all over the place, my mind definitely is.

Even if you find an organization that is willing to help with mental illness, it's incredibly hard. You'd need to have gone through almost all available treatments (medication, ward, etc) and have support from your therapist. Besides that, the process take a very long time (in my country it's like 3 years minimum) and even then you don't have a guarantee. It may look like an easy way out but it'll just prolong your suffering.
Sorry to hear life brought you to this point, it seems like you're new here, there's a bunch of resources on how to ctb. Those are safer and more guaranteed than applying to one of those organizations.

No need to apologise. Everything you're saying makes sense. Yeah- I believe there are evaluations and I believe you need to pay for them yourself- whether they go ahead or not- from some of the stuff I've seen. I imagine talking to your doctor or therapist might be the best course of action- if you think they will support you in this. You're likely to need their referral anyway I imagine. I'm sorry though. I understand the frustration. Personally, I think it's cruel that debhilitating mental illness isn't treated the same as physical illness. Perhaps it will be one day but I don't think we're there yet sadly. But yeah- welcome to the forum. I hope you find some comfort here.

Here's the - suicide resource compilation with all the methods. Nembutal is the golden standard, it's used by the organizations you mentioned, but it's currently not available online- and incredibly hard to get irl. I'd say a method like (partial)hanging is pretty accessible, and so is SN, you can read the information on how to get that in the threads provided.

But it seems like for any method besides N you'll need to get over your fear/SI first. It definitely makes sense as to why you feel that way, however, it could also mean you aren't ready yet. It's sad that there isn't an easy way out, and I wish you the best with whatever you decide.
