As an autistic i can be sound sensitive though not to your degree. its gotten oddly worse this last year. I wear ear plugs almost 24/7 now.

You can re use too just keep them clean.

If you want maximum noise reduction and wearing comfort I strongly recommend otoplastics, they are not exactly cheap. But you will find they outdo any other type of earplugs out there.

Perhaps the very best choice (as mentioned by Lost Magic) would be an Active Noise Cancelling headphone. Maybe you can get your hands on a used Bose Quiet Comfort 35. They are the very best ANC headphones ever and extremely comfortable. They will really get you into your own quiet cocoon. No need to turn on any music. Just use the ANC function only.
If you're on a budget you can check out Tronsmart or Picun ANC headphones on Aliexpress.
