Well, nowadays I've recovered. Now, I only translate Japanese works that I'm passionate about. Instead of chasing view counts.

I really respect translators, being able to move beyond literal translation means you have to really understand what the author is trying to communicate, it requires both knowledge and sympathy. Honestly you deciding to move away from being motivated by external validation sounds like a good thing to me

Do you mind me asking how you went about learning Japanese I only know generic greetings and questions but still don't know how to start going about learning to read and write/type with Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji
Mainly focusing of hiragana but my ADHD doesn't help my progression in getting anywhere worthwhile though that's no reason for my lack of progression just an excuse.

I understand. I draw things, and when 95% of people who see my stuff my like it, and then one person doesn't, it feels like the dislike is more genuine than the like. One dead pixel ruins the entire image, as Mouthwashing puts it.
On a slightly less depressing note, do you have any advice for self-taught Japanese learning for an English-speaker? I am N5 level right now, and I can't sit still in a classroom.

I used to have the same reaction about negative comments but learned over time to not be bothered anymore. Doesn't help my other phases of long emptiness and a weariness but at least its not from those comments anymore

I tried that once, but I stopped because the only person who commented was mad about me having a poor scan~
