Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Not Living Just Killing Time

I have a new roommate who moved in last Saturday. I have been living alone for a little over a year and it is better for my mental health to have someone around. I don't know this person, they were introduced to me through a mutual friend. We met up for coffee once and then a week later they moved in. The first night I thought we should get to know each other so I picked up a bag and I played some music videos. Eventually, I made a reference to my will and estate plan because I planned on CTB about a month ago. They said they were told my mental health was not great but they didn't want to believe just how bad it was. She literally said "how can someone as functional as you be suicidal"? It's my bad for bringing it up but I feel like I need to be honest with them. We have not talked since Saturday and I feel bad for exposing them to my situation. I constantly feel like I am a burden to anyone who has the misfortune of coming into my life.

If you are not going to ctb anytime soon then don't tell her anything . You can just tell her that there are just thoughts here and there but you are fine. Because if someone realises you are weak, you are treated as weak.
If you plan to ctb in the time to come, in that case, I'm not sure how good it is to tell her, she may foil your attempt by informing the police or she may simply move out without informing the police.
For her sake, if you wish to ctb soon, you may have to ctb outside your residence

I tried having roommates for this purpose multiple times too. Wasn't suicidal back then, but still in a bad place mental health wise (major depression, ADHD, CPTSD, RSD)

But the 1st brought his new girlfriend against my will (my apartment) which I happened to almost hook up with 10y prior in a totally different place (my unique "luck"). It was incredibly weird to be around them and hearing them fuck (she was loud).
The 2nd didn't pay rent and blamed me stealing stuff from him due to his drug usage or whatever.

I gave up at that point and didn't manage to live alone much longer and ran back to my parents. They split up since then, so now I'm living with my dad, but he's pretty occupied with work and out of his depth in helping me dealing with problems...
