I think most people secretly want to die but won't admit to anyone or are even in denial to themselves.

I think you might be projecting a bit. I look around and wonder how the hell the majority of people want to live as well. The majority of people may want to live but I guarentee every sane person has had the thought of killing themselves cross their mind.I think most people secretly want to die but won't admit to anyone or are even in denial to themselves.
probably not us on the site, I know I dont, but here in the US I think making more people is a huge life goalI dont think most here want to create more life. I find death a difficult transition, though not really tragic in the typical sense.

I agree. I find the suffering around death difficult, very difficult. I don't see being dead as tragic. I feel worse for those left alive that loved them
100%. It's just taboo to talk about for some reason.I do think there are more people who wish for death than what are reported in statistics
Like when you see obituaries of young people who suddenly die but don't say the reason why I think a lot of times it's suicide100%. It's just taboo to talk about for some reason.
And when a suicide is mentioned in media, the method is often never brought up.Like when you see obituaries of young people who suddenly die but don't say the reason why I think a lot of times it's suicide
Thoughts
Plans
- 12% had thoughts of suicide in their lifetime
- 2.6% had thoughts of suicide in the past year
Attempts
- 4.2% had planned suicide in their lifetime
- 0.8% had planned suicide in the past year
- 3.1% had attempted suicide in their lifetime
- 0.3% had attempted suicide in the past year
That's it?!In my country apparently the statistics are absurdly low:
Dying slowly and in brutal pain is very scary. We fear the unknown that comes with death . Most people even if miserable are attached to the physical world. That's why I feel like an Alien I think everything here is pointlessThen why do so many people, who get diagnosed with nasty diseases, do everything they can to not die - like surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, etc, etc, etc?
That was my reaction too! Only 12% in their lifetime?!That's it?!
