I'm going to do full suspension hanging and ordered the rope. It will be here next week and I'm doing a store pickup so none of my family members can ruin my plan. Now I just have to figure out where to place the rope on my neck in order to compress the carotid arteries... I would prefer compressing them because I've heard otherwise you can suffocate for 1-3 minutes before losing consciousness.
I think some people have said to tie it to the left? There are resources and discussions about hanging that can answer that for you. I hope everything goes as you want it to, and that you find peace however you choose to find it.

Knot to front (best) or behind (2nd best) but not on either side of neck. Why? Cause the knot is the lowest pressure point of the loop so you don't want the lowest pressure point above one of the TWO main jugular/carotid points that you're trying to compress.

When you jump off the chair or whatever after you pretighten the rope should that be enough to compress carotids
Oh yes, it doesn't have to be far but bodyweight will shut them instantly. Neck break, no. But that's not required.
