I'm going to ask around my local gas suppliers for nitrogen cylinder but I don't have a strong cover story rn. I'm planing on saying I do professional bike marathon and I need it for my tires since the nitrogen weighs less than oxygen. But I'm not sure if it's a good cover story.

What cover story works well for a complete noob purchasing the cylinder? So even if they ask me about some technical stuff I can say "I don't know it's my first time" and get away with it.

I promise you they don't care. If they say anything just say you use it to seal your paint cans to preserve the paint. Thats what I did and they didnt question it at all. Its also not controlled as long as you're beyond 18.
