  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Normally we have no problem to accept, that things have a beginning and an end. For example, your car. It did not exist before assembling and it will not exist after its end in the scrap press. Nobody would create an afterlife of cars. The same is valid for robots, even the terminator ended in a press. We are nothing but biorobots, nothing will remain when our CPU, our brain is destroyed, that´s the outcome of the latest brain research. I believe our survival-instinct-programme made us inventing an afterlife.
You can't know that for sure thought Gustav. You haven't died yet to be fully conclusive about the afterlife or lack thereof.
Dr. Parnia, in the interview, stated: "The evidence thus far suggests that in the first few minutes after death, consciousness is not annihilated. Whether it fades away afterward, we do not know, but right after death, consciousness is not lost.

But but
your car/computer can be repaired or reconstructed

People only die (permanently) because we don't know how to repair a destroyed brain

And the universe itself can be the reason why your brain is repaired/recreated.
There could be another big bang after the heath death of the universe

A brain is just a pattern, a shape of matter, just like a cloud that looks like an angel

Maxresdefault

The universe could be infinite and eternal, and the number of shapes/qualities is finite

This isn't magic, there's a reasoning behind it

I've always thought the brain mech idea was a little weird. It makes sense on a purely physcial reality metric, but I'm sure there is something more.

We're just matter

There's nothing special about life and consciousness

You're just a consumer (you eat food, dance, play, have fun /whatever)
and a reproducer (you fall in love, maybe you also make babies)

and if you were the smartest being in the whole universe
you would still just be a consumer and a reproducer

Can you see the similarity between the pictures?
Both the worms (lowest form of life) and the alien civilization (highest form of life) are practicing parasitism.

The worm needs to feed on the apple to stay alive
and the aliens need to feed on their star to stay alive

but why do they want to stay alive? because both the aliens and the worms are shit scared of death that's why, and they want
to keep on playing, eating and having sex forever. There's nothing else to do other than playing, eating and having sex.

We aren't meant to overthink this much about death.. afterlife.. or reincarnation.. all just seems like torture to think about.. modern life will do that..

Is that... a worm lore stuffed into an apple? How and why would someone make that picture???

Anyways, yeah, I already went through my 'nothing matters' phase.
Either way, I just don't believe that anymore. Of course, even if everything is purely a physical hellish blip in the universe, a strange conglomerate of atoms that happend to observe itself, and the void of death is more like the second before you were conceived rather than anything else, it changes nothing.

Clinical death means cardiac arrest and this has nothing to do with death only brain death is real death (criterion for organ harvest). When I was hanged non lethally by a partner I was often on the "other side" and I guess this situation is similar to clinical death because there is no blood flow to the brain.

But you are right, there is no 100 % prove that there is no afterlife. This article gives me doubts:

Are these final brain activities the echo of an transmission to the afterlife?
We aren't meant to overthink this much about death.. afterlife.. or reincarnation.. all just seems like torture to think about.. modern life will do that..

When I decided to kill myself I started to overthink everything about death. I wanted to be sure that I will not be punished in hell for my suicide.

Normally cars and computers will not be repaired because they are outdated. The same with us, nature wants us to disappear when we have accomplished our biological mission. I know that nature wants noting and that there is no reason behind anything, but its easier to use these words when I am writing in a foreign language about this topic. In term of evolution death is the precondition for life.

I love the idea that there is something more but I also hate self-deception and wishful thinking. On the basis of what am allowed to know and understand the probability of something more is almost zero.
