Yes it is true that personality plays a role in attraction, but that plays a lesser role to the far more dominant primal physical attributes due to evolutionary biology that make the sexes attracted to each other. I'm a hetero, so I can only speak from a heterosexual viewpoint.

Certain social / political groups will try to shame you to death for not being solely attracted to a woman for her mind, or her ambition or personality, but that's just modern cultural marxist bullshit.

And yeah is superficial thing the Human animal : where society judges women on their youth and beauty and judge men on how much resources they comendeer. It's a flaw of the human condition. It's simply the way things are.
