I know it's sad to be angry over being temp banned and even sadder to be angry about being banned from Reddit, but please try to hold your judgement lol.

I use Reddit as an emotional outlet. I spend a lot of time on there talking about whatever whenever I want, debating, arguing, being petty, making friends, getting lost in fandom discussions, etc. I personally find it to be almost therapeutic in a way. No one knows who I am, I just hop into conversations and hop out. Very effortless socialization for me.

But I got fucking temp banned for a comment that wasn't even mine. I got into an argument in a thread that got overrun by transphobes and one of my comments got deleted? But I was banned for something someone else said.

The reason for my ban was "identity based hate" and they linked to someone else's comment that read: "So glad Trump is getting rid of these freaks".

Never in a million fucking years would I ever say this. It is clearly not under my account, either. The other persons username is clear as day, completely different from mine.

So of course I appeal, because surely this is a mistake. Apparently fucking not. My appeal was denied and they reiterated, again, that I should not make identity based hate comments.

I'm just so fucking mad. Not only was I banned for fighting against transphobes/for a comment someone else made, all the fucking comments I reported for being transphobic are still there.

It's a temp ban, so I'll be back in a few days, but now I have a permanent mark against my account for something I didn't even do. It's fucked up and I'm mad.

I understand fully. I got permabanned from Reddit this summer and I got into a weird paranoid state where I thought they were listening to everything I said and thought. Weird stuff.
At any rate as you probably know if your ban made no sense you can appeal

"Lord, grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference."

And if you can't accept it, they can always go fuck themselves.

My brain is not letting me accept it because I know it's a decidedly wrong ban. 🤦‍♂️ Like, rationally, it's nbd. It's just 3 days and it's just reddit. But it makes me itchy knowing I didn't deserve it and it'll be a permanent mark on my account forever. I'm neurodivergent so maybe that's partially why I'm so bothered by this, but yeah idk.

It seems the majority of the US would rather hate on minorities than actually fix problems going on in the world today. I'm sorry about Reddit not taking your account ban seriously.

It's not your fault.

Maybe you could try making a new account, if worst comes to worst--

Say, once your account gets back into shape--maybe you could try using a tool to archive all your posts and comments, so all of your comments & people you interacted with are kept in a safe database in-case you wish to reach out to them again.

I promise you this is a perfectly valid thing to worry about. It's a very important platform & account to you, and you're completely justified in feeling hurt with that taken away from you, over such an insufficient occurrence. Hope you get your account back soon friend <3

I like going on Reddit. Sometimes there's good discussions and people, but the moderators can be absolutely awful. It is fucked up and unfair, but I'm glad it was just a temp ban.

I can empathize and relate to this, so very very deeply... 🙏 ...just because I, too, don't take kindly to all the casual little injustices (and overall unfairness) of everyday life! Hell, even as an early-middle aged man− as of here and now, in the present day − there is some small part of me, deep down inside, that still resents getting in trouble at school, when I did not deserve such (i.e, "earn it").

I promise you this is a perfectly valid thing to worry about. It's a very important platform & account to you, and you're completely justified in feeling hurt with that taken away from you, over such an insufficient occurrence.
So many site admins/mods, these days, have no respect or regard for the time, energy, and sheer emotional labour that go into someone's social media presence, especially considering how long social media itself has been around! Long-time member makes an understandable "honest mistake" that could have happened to anyone? Immediate permaban + block, so they cannot even reach out and ask to be heard... 🤬

Don't worry! In the past weeks I tried to open several "social media accounts" and almost all of them were banned (suspended) immediately due to violation of rules. Well - FUN FACT - I haven't even post a single post yet ... it's just stupid AI assuming things.
