I feel superior to everyone around me

Maybe it's actually a hidden inferiority complex too but I'm exhausted with all people around me. All they care about is updating their iPhone to the newest version every year and bragging about every little thing they got while they aren't even all that. I'm not good at communicating with new people but I need people who lift me up from this pathetic situation . I need people who are emotionally intelligent and are at the same level or better than me.

Well said about that phone thing. My coworkers update their phone like once every couple of years. Taking loans to buy them on top of that.meanwhile, I'm using the same phone for the past eight years.

People are way too frivolous these days.None of this stuff will make them happy.

FINALLY someone gets it. For some reason I think unfortunately people with mental health struggles are more emotionally intelligent.

for real tho, a lot of ppl find comfort in following trends, not wanting to miss out. not that it bothers me or anything tho. anyways if you feel like ur outta place, pattern recognition plays a huge role in finding emotionally intelligent people. you'll need to interact with a lot of people to see who follows the crowd and who's individualistic. it takes time and energy and most of the time you'd find yourself not being able to fit in, but its worth it. everyone carries their own sets of values, hopefully u find someone who matches yours.

But everyone I know lives and works so they can have a nicer car, nicer apartment, stuff they don't need, and vacations they can post on social media. I might have no meaning in my life, but that's better than my meaning being consumerism and vanity.

I think a lot about what I want from life and never get anywhere. So far it even feels like the major I study which takes over a decade to fully graduate from has been to please others and now I'm wondering, so what in the end?
