Venting I feel like this forum became too mainstream

I agree but for absolutely different reasons. When you look up discourse about this site online, unfortunately minors seem to know about it. I wish only adults would come here.

This site is hugely different from how it was when I first found it three years ago. It wasn't easy to find and those of us who did find it were unified in our thinking, with much help for each other to figure out how, as people abandoned in our quest for autonomy to end our own lives, we were simply straightforward in our comments and sharing information. Now it's random venting like an all purpose chatroom, with people asking over and over how to find SN, which is no longer available.

i agree it can be a bit frustrating to see a community change, but i guess it'll always happen at one point or another. i'm just glad we still have the space.

It's inevitable that this community changes quickly because unlike other communities, embers don't stay long. They die. FC is the exception, not the rule.

i dont like that criticism is not allowed on a forum that is supposed to be some sort a resistance against this kind of false posititivity that you find on google when you write "how to kill myself" and you see only tons of "dont kill yourself" garbage.

What i mean is that i cannot hate anyone here even if that person is really a complete cunt, i cannot even criticise to not have my message deleted and be warned with message like: "we dont judge here", which is basicly a hypocrisy because its all fine when we judge and even insult people that are against suicide.

I find FuneralCity user one of the most frustrating people that are being here. He is basicly a reason for me to stop visiting to place.

We all have our struggles and most of us here have found ourselves on the fringe of society. I hope this forum is place where we continue to be kind to each other.

As I've said before, OP is entitled to their opinion on a venting thread.

I would point out that in a previous thread, OP said they didn't care what anyone else thought. Now that is their prerogative, but I don't know how anyone who believes that can expect others to care in return, unless they share exactly the same opinion without any divergence.

If that's part of the 'good old days' OP is talking about, people not caring about other's opinions...well, I'm not seeing it myself, but maybe that's my lack of perception.

I think the mods should decide what stays and goes personally.

We are a in some sort of pain on this forum. It is a safe place for everyone to vent and I feel that everyone should feel comfortable sharing what is on their minds. We probably have a lot more in common here which is what keeps us returning to this forum.

Where you have "specialist" written you could always replace it with "living for my dogs" or words to that effect. They're essentially your equivalent of "have you tried this" your equivalent of whatever people expect for you to cling to life, so beyond that there shouldn't be much for anyone with half a brain to say.

I have no idea why it says specialist. It used to say 'student'. Maybe I'll change it. There's an old saying I'm your familiar with which is, 'if I wanted your advice I'd beat it out of you'. Nothing pisses me off more than unsolicited advice. There's a lot of people on this forum who have every intention of ctb but can't or won't because of certain obligations like taking care of an aging parent or in my case pets and have to bide their time. If they've arrived here I'm sure they've probably tried everything conceivable but ultimately find themselves in an untenable, hopeless situation. Yes, hopeless situations do exist. While we're waiting we have this space where we can share our experiences and ideas and thoughts on methods like partial, nitro, etc. My belabored point is that this should be a place safe from the do gooders and their endless platitudes and cliches. I hope that makes sense. Maybe not. It's almost 5am here and I can't sleep because of torturous neurological pain and I just took my 50 times more potent than morphine medication and am waiting for it to take effect so I can get some much needed sleep. "Have you tried taking an aspirin? Have you tried yoga?"

It definitely feels different than when I started using SS 3 years ago. I think the tantacrul video and all the news coverage has led a lot more people to the site, despite being the opposite of what those people wanted (lol).

That being said I don't want to hold it against anyone who recently joined, because they're clearly here for a reason. But I do feel uneasy with how mainstream the site is getting.
