• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Please, I need some advice or some encouraging words. I'm unemployed and depressed and the days are too long. I can't stand it. I don't feel like doing anything. I used to cope with videogames but now they feel so so boring. The same with movies, shows, reading, drawing, everything. Everything is so boring. Maybe it's because of the medication? Or because of weed? (I had a bad trip a few days ago and I don't want to smoke ever again) I'm desperate. Will this feeling of emptiness dissappear on its own?

Likewise. May I ask, how do you cope?
I cope only because I have a very strong survival instinct and i still hae my mother who cares about me, but i'm so tired of all this shit

One way I try to cope with being unemployed is doing free online courses, as much as I can - because motivation isn't high. At the end of the day I feel I haven't totally wasted my time. There are free Coursera courses, Cisco Networking Academy, FutureLearn, etc.

There are Cisco Netacad courses that even give you a free certificate and a badge of completion - I got one for Linux Unhatched recently and I haven't felt such a feeling of accomplishment in a very long time - although Linux Unhatched is a minor course, just covering the very basics.

I think I know exactly how you feel. Stay strong - the emptiness will dissipate. Going out and sitting on a bench in the park, watching birds and people, having a cup of coffee, helps me with this.

The only constant thing is change, as Heraclitus is credited with saying. It's another reason I try to hold on - trying to not sabotage a possible future me that perhaps has figured it out and needs me to hold on now. Also, knowing that CTB is the "forever decision", it makes sense to keep trying to improve things in this life as many times as I can withstand - the ticket for the show is already paid anyway.

It hasn't disappeared for years for me. I guess I cope by dissociating all the time. I have no perception of time anymore. It's impossible to say if it'll disappear for you, hopefully it will.
