I need this summer glow-up leaving me utterly unrecognizable, and weight loss is a major factor for it. My mom took away my vape, so now it's like a thousand times fucking harder to starve since I won't feel fulfilled without actually eating. Drop the methods! I don't care if it involves starving, working-out, drinking more water, etc! Drop them whether they are safe or unsafe ways.

Walk 10,000 steps a day and do strength training 2–3 times a week. Going to the gym isn't necessary you can just use a pull-up bar and parallel bars.

Another useful habit: about two squats burn one calorie. If you do 10 squats every hour, you'll end up with around 100 squats a day. Over the course of a month, that adds up to roughly 1500 calories burned.
With this routine, I managed to lose weight from 92 kg to 79 kg, although some days I did more and some days less you also need to pay attention to fatigue and not overdo it. It took me more than seven months.

I'm skeptical about diets because the risk of regaining the weight is very high.

You could start with fasting for a couple of days, drinking only water, then moving on to low carb + intermittent fasting. If you want to do one meal a day that works well too. Keep your total net carbs pretty low for a while, say under 20 per day, and you'll see results pretty quickly. Eat just a steak, salad and an omelet every day, plus a vitamin pill combined with plenty of water and you should stay quite healthy while dropping a lot of weight. Add in some daily exercise for additional fat burning while in ketosis, if you can. This plan is not ideal long term but for a month or two it'll be very effective. Good luck.

long distance running + proper fueling + high protien + coffee

seriously,

start at 5km/week and slowly increase to 50-60km/week.
each 10km run is like 1000 calories

you'll need to fuel properly (protien shakes) so you don't injure yourself
+ carbs during the run so you can like actually run

have protien before you go to bed to reduce hunger

muscle is denser that fat so you will lean up naturally
muscle also metobolically active so you will raise your BMR

I now eat what ever I want as long as I run 20-30km/week

good luck

I'm skeptical about diets because the risk of regaining the weight is very high.
I 100% agree with this

So you're asking OP to set real goal? 😆

OP,If you want to loose weight quickly, go on a protein sparing modified fast.

Down four whey shakes everyday and do a lot of walking and eat nothing else. You'll have rapid weight loss and you won't lose much muscle if any.

As the weight comes down, you'll still have structure to you and you won't look like a loose bag as it will be mostly fat lost.

A lot of the advice on here is very silly and misleading. You can't lose loads of weight really quickly but if you want to lose some weight consistently you need to be in a calorie deficit that's sustainable long term eg 250-500 below maintenance. A high protein, balanced diet combined with resistance training and low intensity steady state cardiovascular activity is very helpful too.

Heard from somewhere that milk causes weight gain. But tea sounds like a pretty good substitute for any other beverage. It'll be unappetizing, but would probably work well

If milk is the only thing you drink and eat nothing else it actually makes you lose weight, but of course you have to be lactose tolerant

If you want to lose weight, you should educate yourself on the basics of nutrition as apposed to listening to random bullshit about milk making you gain weight.

The ones that talk about dieting instead of cardio. I'm honestly going for more management with my diet than exercise. I'm not really a gym person anymore, because I once pulled the gym + starving combo and threw up right then and there. Movement while I have a sudden change or slow down in my eating causes intense nausea for me. I know it's a stupid reason to stop, but it is what it is

Whoa, I wasn't completely convinced that it does. I said that I heard it from somewhere and maybe wanted to confirm with the person

If this truly works, then this genuinely might be the method for me, something I could actually stay consistent. Yet another good day to not be lactose intolerant and be a milk lover

Prefacing this with
- I am not a health professional on this forum
- This is not medical advice, just some dude on the internet
- I agree with above posts dieting doesn't work long term (your body reduces basal metobolic rate when you diet, lowers mood, you feel shitty etc etc.)
- you should probably go see a Dr at some stage to talk about your nausea etc.
- I am still a strong advocate for cardio/gym

If you have a lot of food noise, what can help, what I've heard from friends is ACT and IFS therapy. (And also going on lots of hikes)

They also found comfort taking oral semiglutide (wegovy/ozempic but in a pill format). They imported it from overseas. It did get caught in customs once and had to get their doctor to sign off to make it "legal"

Helped them reduce food noise, feeling full faster with less food, and feeling full longer.
And obviously dropped a bit of weight.

****

Do dangerous things carefully plz.

It's the diet I've been on bc of being so depressed and feeling hideous and ugly, besides some diet cola I only have milk tea, of course I'm weak and iron deficient but I'm anemic always anyway so I don't care much 🥺 maybe it's an ED maybe it's self harm but hey, it's working (I didn't even have intent of losing weight at first)
I'm too depressed to keep food down and don't like vomiting, so chewing and spitting is what I settled on, I put a bit of sugar in the milk so it gives me some energy for the day cus I read somewhere sugar is good for energy 😭 I have no idea

You gain and lose weight by the number of calories you take in compared to the number of calories you burn every day. No singular food controls this.
If milk is the only thing you drink and eat nothing else it actually makes you lose weight, but of course you have to be lactose tolerant
Lactose intolerance has nothing to do with how much weight you gain or lose drinking milk.

This is absolutely disordered eating and I highly suggest you get some help for this. Being weak and anemic is incredibly unhealthy and will do real long-term damage to your body if you continue eating this way.

There is a diet called Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF). It's mostly for people who work out, I think, but everybody should be able to do it.
Here's how it goes: you have to eat approximately your body weight in kilograms times 2 grams of protein a day, (almost) no carbohydrates or fat allowed. So if you're 50 kg you eat 100 g of protein each day, like schicken breast filet, use a calories tracker app for that. And it has to be food thats almost exclusively protein. But it should only be done if you're above 12-15% body fat as a man or 24% as a woman. And you do two light strength work outs per week and don't do any other exercise, you don't have enough energy for any cardio or at least shouldn't. And you have to drink electrolytes and also some multivitamin tablets (and they should contain enough of everything, you have to look it up).
Of course if you don't care about losing muscle mass you can drop the work outs I guess.

I'm not a professional or anything and I may have forgotten some very important things in my description (my description could be complete BS) so you definitely have to read it up on the internet first or ask an AI at least. Its extreme on the body. And I believe AIs or websites may warn you to visit a doctor before you begin (although I didn't).

Diet coke and calories free things like that are allowed btw.

I recently did PSMF to lose 5-6 kg in 3 weeks but it can be done for more weeks if you have spare body fat. The first 3-4 days were very hard but then it became almost easy with the hunger.

Other than that, something like a simple calories deficit of 1000 or 300 kcal is something I've done using an app.

A lot of good iformation here in this threat.
First of all calories in must be lower that calories out.
You cannot outtrain a bad diet.
My experience is three ketogenic diets. One was bought from a local fitness business.
Two others were from youtube.
I lost the weight but the carb craving where huge. Got my weight back when i returned to normal eating habbits.
Most effective was very small and steady ordinary diet and excersising 4 times a week. I ate 5 times a day with small calorie defecit.
I heard that Its possible to eat too little so your body starts to store fat in panic.

Losing weight isn't a one and done thing. It's something you'll have to try and maintain for the rest of your life until you decide it's not worth it.

I recommend that you take the weight loss journey (which is more of a change in lifestyle or a lifelong journey) slowly, even if it takes a year or two or longer to reach a reasonable target weight. If you think about it, a year or two really doesn't mean anything when it comes to losing weight. People stay the same weight or gain weight for years and years. Please don't pressure yourself with a time limit as EDs with extreme food noise can make you go insane.

Losing weight is mostly about CICO (calories in, calories out). You should be taking in less calories than the amount you burn to lose weight over time.

First, put your stats (height, weight, age, and sex) in a BMR calculator. It'll give you a general estimate of your BMR, or how many calories your body burns a day just by being alive. This number isn't 100% exact but it's accurate enough for most people. When you weigh yourself for the first time, I recommend you do it in the morning, naked, after you pee/poop so that the food/water weight doesn't affect the result too much.

A 25-year-old 5'5 female that weighs 130 lbs has a BMR of ~1350. That's how many calories they burn without any extra movement.

Your TDEE includes the number of extra calories you burn by exercise (normal daily movement or workouts) on top of your BMR. If the person in the example is really sedentary, then they might burn ~1,600 calories a day. With exercise, they could reasonably bump that up to ~1,800-1,900.

The lower the weight you start off with, the lower your calorie deficit can realistically be. But I would recommend trying not to go over a 500 calorie deficit. 1000 calorie deficits are on the extreme side and are only viable for a short period of time if you're morbidly obese. Honestly, just eating a little under maintenance and adding exercise like daily walks will be enough to slowly lose weight.

The weight you lose will be both fat and muscle as losing at least some muscle is inevitable if you're not hitting weights or doing any sort of body resistance workouts. Eventually you might hit a point where you go "why do I still look fat (skinnyfat)" when you're at a healthy weight. If this isn't the body dysmorphia talking, then it's because you need to build some muscle (no, it won't make you look like a bodybuilder and will actually make you look skinnier/leaner) to achieve more of the look you're looking for.

You can't spot reduce so don't obssess over the "problem parts" that look like they're not getting smaller. As you lose weight, eventually all of you will get smaller, just at different speeds. The parts you're concerned about are usually the ones that are last to show a difference. Like for someone with thick upper arms, it could take a long, long, long time for theirs to somewhat shrink. But progress takes patience.

I guess another tip would be to not obssess over the scale. Womens' weights fluctuate way more because of water weight and you'll only stress yourself out if you're weighing yourself daily/weekly and taking those numbers at face value. You could be 5 pounds heavier just from your period coming up. You should really be looking for a downward trend in weight over months of data.

This should all be done as healthily as you can though. EDs are really, really horrible and can consume your life. If you can, please work with a dietician (and psychiatrist) if it feels overwhelming.

you can use an appetite suppressant. That other guy recommended reta, which would work. Or you could also use another stim to replace your vape. If your American you may be able to get an ADHD prescription for an amphetamine
