How to locate radial artery?

I know it sits 2-4mm under your skin, and that generally its located on your wrist(runs wrist to elbow but that's where I want to cut it, cutting at the elbow bothers me for some reason) but is it really as easy as locating the pulse point there and making a vertical cut with a scapal over that point? I tried that with my ulner about a year ago and went to what looked like muscle or pink tissue of some kind(past the subcutaneos layer for sure) but I never actually reached the artery, despite being right on the pulse point.

I plan on hanging myself after making the cut and that's what I want to take me out, but I want to bleed when I die from my wrists a lot so I need to hit that artery, preferably without severing any tendons.
Anyone with any experience or know how?
