• Hey Guest,

    As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Yes please reply!

I will. I sent the same question also to the NVVE (Biggest right-to-die organisation in my county - of which I am a member for over 10 years. The end-of-life clinic was their initiative so you can't get it any closer).

As people already mentioned, there isn't anything that can mask the taste. The lidocaine spray doesn't work at all, I've tested this already. And I doubt there is syrup that is strong enough to completely mask the taste either but I'm gonna mix it anyway. It helps for alcohol, why wouldn't it help for Nembutal. But I guess I'll figure it out when I'm in the hotel. I didn't open my bottles yet and I'll taste my Nembutal once I checked into the hotel because that will be the point of no return for me. I can give some feedback about my experience once I did that.

I understand it's the aftertaste which is stronger than the taste itself. Bitterness is tasted most powerfully at the back of the tongue, practically down your throat, so covering up the accessible part of the tongue with something nice, or lidocaine, is ineffective for this reason. Bitterness is also a slow burner, is not tasted immediately but within a few seconds.

Dignitas recommend their patients down their dose in two gulps. This is probably so the foul stuff is quickly down and the chocolate is in before the aftertaste truly bites with intensity. We drink 4 times the quantity, so probably worth practising drinking the equivalent volume in as few gulps as possible (say 8, for example) as quickly as you can. That way, come the day, you know what you're up against and will hopefully be able to quell the aftertaste in time.

I have been trying multiple things at 200ml lately, I can do most in 5 gulps. I think I will empty both into a glass. I will hopefully take 2-3 gulps at which point I will feel the pinch, stop steady my stomach with a few deep breaths then down the rest. Follow it with a bite of chocolate.

If you've ever filled your mouth with MD, chewed up X, or had meth dripping down the back of your throat from railing it and not thrown up then I think N can't be worse than any of those tbh.

Already an answer back from the NVVE;

We received your question about the difference between veterinary pentobarbital and pentobarbital for physician euthanasia. The pharmacy has added substances to the last-mentioned drug that masks the unpleasant taste.

@ Also now from the end-of-life counselor (he's less informed);

No, there is no difference there. That makes it interesting, of course.
Sincerely,

Thanks for the information from Your sources.

Means that the veterinary is another "liquid" than the drink exit uses.
We should gather more information here.

Would blocking your nose with something like cotton wool not reduce the taste sensation? Given the relationship between smell and taste.
