How to CTB and leave an impact for others on SS?

I am very thankful for SS and the community that provides positive support and useful advice for those feeling the way I do.

There is a lot of great information buried here, but yet so much is left to speculation and our best judgement. Like we should know so much more than we do. So many people have followed the advice in the PPH / Stan's Guide / Other literature, yet all we have to take away from it are the first hand experiences from those who failed, and a few second hand experiences here and there from others who witnessed it.

The reality is we are possibly the largest case study on these topics, yet we have none of the data to back it up. I know for a lot of people like myself, having that data provides reassurance that we are making the right choice in our methods, and our schedules.

My question for you all is this: Are there any possible ways that we could CTB and leave an impact for others that go deeper than whether we were succesful or not? For instance, I have chosen SN for my exit plan. Are there any ways that I could document / share / contribute my experience for others that is both meaningful and trustworthy? I've been trying to think of creative solutions for this that could leave a bigger impact then a simple goodbye thread. Curious if anyone has any good ideas.

I think the people that had the biggest impact had someone watch them do it on a live feed and taking notes and reporting back. Comments from the person CTBing in their last moments can tell us what they're experiencing and that also goes a long way.

hypothetically swim hopes to record, watch or share her own videos for the benefit of our community. little worried abt any of that having unintended negative consequences tho.

I've also thought about recording my attempt and having someone else upload it somehow, but the press would probably go insane if something like that was passed around here. Having an observer take notes like in Moonicide's case would probably be the safest route.

i want my actual vid shared w/sasu. not personal info (hopefully), but hopefully build trust with someone in enough time to align with my plans. im realizing that again i am wearing myself out trying to fix a broken system (senior caregiver) same as i did with animal rescue, and what efforts i make are often futile, a fart on the insurmountable shit pile we call humanity. im sure ill fuck this up as gloriously as i've done everything else

I can relate to that ... I spent many years doing unpaid / volunteer work for the local anti-vivisection group, only to realise that I hadn't made the slightest difference at all ... not one solitary creature had been spared its suffering, despite all the energy / time / resources I'd invested in the cause.

Then one day I saw a bird in a cage being sold at a local garage sale. So I handed over $5, took it home, opened a window, then opened the cage, and - after 10 minutes or so - the bird flew away.

It was then that I realised that I'd achieved more with $5, along with very little effort, on one Saturday morning, than all my many years of toiling for the anti-vivisection group.

Yeah, I don't think a public recording or livestream would be beneficial for this reason. It would probably get the site taken down if anything. I would be down to have someone document it, I just don't know who I would trust as an observer. It would have to be someone who has credibility on here and is willing.

I guess there has been incidents where the ctb-ing person got on vid call(unsure which platform used for the call) or something with trustable person from the forum. Video was recorded and then edited in order to ensure privacy. Uploaded on a platform (which wouldn't create ruckus with a press) and link was shared only on this platform hence accessible to people on this forum only.

I like your generous thinking. I think we are all so grateful for the information we find on here- including threads which document a successful attempt. Still- I think it could be legally risky for someone to do this. I think it's legally problematic in many places even to witness a CTB without intervening. The person left behind would need to be technologically savy enough to be able to post the report annonymously so that they didn't identify themselves if law enforcement happen to become interested.
