Hi. I know a lot of people on this forum, like me, have struggled and/or struggle with finding a safe place, and that may increase our need for an escape through suicide. So I was hoping we could share tips on how to make a safe place. I'll start...
Currently, my safe place is my apartment, but it could be a friend's house, a neighbour's, the library, the mall, whatever. BTW I live alone. I'll just list a few to get started.
*Have access to communications through phone and laptop
*Have a window so I don't feel trapped
*Have my pet kitty for soothing company
*Have a plant for connection to nature
*Have things that remind me of people who care about me
*Have an good lock on my front door plus an alarm
Does anyone have other contributions? Or maybe someone wants to post safety challenges they have that they need help with?
