I was just curious about how many of you actively practiced a faith. (Participants will be hidden.)

I'm curious about those who are in tradition but not necessarily in belief. Like Jewish customs or culturally catholic like quitting smoking for lent or going to mass on Christmas Eve or Chinese traditions like burning paper and incense and fruit for the ancestors, etc.

It seems like mostly atheists and agnostics on here then some Christians and gnostics and wiccans, etc

Because it is very taboo in my country to not have religion, I would say I have religion if people ask me, but in no way I am religious at all.

I practise orthodox Christianity, but i dont believe in the hell and eternal damnation part. I used to believe in that part until 5-6 years ago, but after reading probably 1000 NDE experiences i now know that hell is a man-made concept crafted to scare people.

I don't know if your post is trying to imply this or not, but atheism and agnosticism are not religions or spiritual identities; they're the lack-of.

I'm agnostic. I've never been shown proof that a higher power exists, nor that a higher power doesn't exist.
I think it's unlikely that there is a higher power. But, then again, who am I to really say? I just don't know.

Was raised Catholic and practiced that for a while. Then went to non-denominational Christian. Then was Christian in name only (so I guess not practicing at that point). Now I am Atheist.

Sometimes I'm agnostic and other times I'm spiritual and not religious and yet other times I'm atheist. I'm all over the place lol .

I'm glad you added 'unsure' because I feel some definitions for 'agnostic' don't suit me. As I've read it, it's the feeling that proof that God exists is impossible to know or obtain. I don't hold with that. If God shows up right now (and isn't human AI generated) and somehow convinces all of us it's all real- I'll believe. Also, if scientists stumble on convincing proof, I might be more swayed. To decide something can and will never be proved seems weird to me. If there is a God, how can they know God's will? For one.

Apparently- 'Agnostic' stems from the Greek 'a' (without) 'gnosis' (knowledge.) Which makes sense- I don't necessarily want to commit to believing in something unquestionably 'without knowledge'. There again- I wouldn't categorically say it doesn't exist because I don't have that knowledge. And, I wouldn't insist it will always be impossible to find that knowledge. How can I possibly know that? How can anyone?

We can predict I suppose. Seeing as our Gods have been pretty elusive for hundreds of years. It seems like if they do exist- that could be part of their plan- to test a person's faith.

I actually wish I was an atheist. I wish I felt sure there was no God because, I can't see the creator of this whole world design as being particularly good or fair even.
