How long did it take for you to go from being a lurker to a member?

Thought I would ask this question since I just became a member myself after contemplating doing so for roughly 4 months now. Not really sure why I waited so long, though probably because of internal guilt. Like many of you I suffer, and I figured that I owe it to myself to at least give myself as many options as possible (as far as the trajectory of my life goes.)

I was activly looking for this place, so no lurking from my side. But then I'd made my first attempt before I turned ten, so I've long been past that "I owe it to <some-mystical-one> to live" stage.

I think on the day I joined I started posting. Prior to that I was on reddit but I lurked around a bit before officially becoming a member back in August 2018.

I believe that I decided to create this account as soon as I found this website as I wanted to be able to use the search function to find out specific information about methods. Sadly, I'm still here years later. I don't think that I really posted anything for like 6 months after my account was created and then after that I started commenting on here regularly just to pass the time, posting holds no benefit for me apart from that.

But it's sad to me how our peaceful right to die is denied and how we have to research suicide methods on the internet in the first place. Suicide forums really should never have to exist, if only we could just have the option of N, it would be ideal as it would solve everything for us.

I was in a really bad place. I wasn't having suicidal thoughts, but rather had an entire suicidal mindset. I was constantly reading about suicides online, and came across an article by an American paper (New York Post if I remember correctly) that named this website.

I wasn't set on suicide, but I wanted to know how I could do it. I was happy to have found this place, so signed up when I got to the point of needing to ask for sources.

Few minutes. I didn't know such a website even existed. Google filters out any suicide related content, they keep the pro-life one though for sure. I was using Duckduckgo and this is how I was able to come across it. It's outrageous how far everyone is willing to go to keep us living despite our misery and suffering.
