  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

last year i found out something interesting.
or just an eye opener.
barely anyone knows the names nor faces of their great grandparents.
their grandparents, of course...
but great grandparents, not so much.

so yeah, unless you're extremely famous or a historical figure, no one will have a clue who you are in 100 years. (most likely, and generally)

to me, i'm kinda cool with it. it's a bit of a cold topic, but as long as we love and enjoy the people around us while we are still here, then that's good.

Leaving a lasting legacy has never really been a concern of mine. I just wanted fulfillment out of my one shot at life

Who cares?? I don't mean that near as hateful as it looks all by itself "on paper." I am hurting really bad today and it is taking everything I have not to climb in the bathtub, stick a gun in my mouth and blow my brains out. Days like this I kinda wish I hadn't promised the kiddo I wouldn't do that. 😥

what difference would it make to you if the whole world or the entire universe knew you and remembered you after your death?

that's right. absolutely nothing.

It makes me feel so good because all I want is to disappear and be forgotten forever. Many people worry because they want to leave a mark of their existence, but even the most famous people in the world like Napoleon are remembered in a couple of sentences at most.

that's sort of the reason why i've been considering ctb, because it's just trial after trial — yes i do have moments of joy and feeling content, but it fades away. it sucks that we put in all this effort in surviving and battling ourselves mentally for nothing truly meaningful. sighhhh

I mean it doesnt really matter, in death all is equal, whether im in a history book or not it doesnt impact me or anybody i care about so why would I care? atleast when it comes to people I care about they actually matter to me, what do a bunch of people who havent been born yet matter to me?

I think about this sometimes, honestly it is fine, more than fine. I don't want a grave or anything, I don't want anyone in the future to see my name and wonder about me. It would just be useless information to them anyways.

I want to be forgotten. I want everything including my remains to be gone like I never existed. I didn't achieve anything during my time here. There's nothing good for people to remember. I'm glad that eventually I will be forgotten about.

Maybe I was lucky, but I knew my great grandparents up until they passed. Italian family, so we all would gather at my Grandpa's house. I'm ok with no one remembering me, but I feel that's just the continuation of life.

That's applicable to all. doesn't matter how rich, famous you might be. The 3rd American president was once one of the most powerful people on the planet. Any idea who he was? me neither.

normal people or famous, it doesn't matter.

we'll all eventually be forgotten.

I honestly prefer it that way as opposed to being famous or even infamous. I don't even really want a funeral and would rather be forgotten and everyone move on quickly.

It doesn't matter cause I can't remember 5 minutes ago, and no one will exist in the end of universe, so why worry now.

Yeah, I'm not sure it matters even now, so I guess I'm not concerned about it. Not everyone can make the history books. Especially the extra-ordinary.

I don't think anyone will exist in 100 years. Mourning the death of my species is a monumental task that I don't expect to ever fully accomplish.

Honestly? Sad. Scared. I want my presence on Earth to have not been pointless. I don't need to be famous either. I might just leave a little time capsule or something.

Its a good thing think of how we look back on people of the past. We scrutinize them trying to figure out why they were who they were. What made the great or terrible. What made the success or failure at there goals. I'm glad to be forgotten I'm no one great so if my life has objective failed to do anything of worth it doesn't matter no one will know eventually.

I find it comforting because it means I may worry a bit less about people in the future- and also that it's not as hard to fade into the background as a lot of people I know make it out to be. Besides, I already have sort of accepted that at some point every bit of knowledge the entire human race has gained will be forgotten, so I care a little less as to what happens after I die while I'm alive.

For me ceasing to exist is the only comfort and relief, I just want all to be gone and forgotten for me and I'd just always prefer to not exist than suffer in this torturous futile existence I just always saw as a mistake, existing to me is just so futile, it's just waiting to die anyway, I just want non-existence to erase all for me, I just want this existence of unnecessary suffering to be all gone, if it's up to me I'd choose to permanently erase my existence so it's like I never suffered at all.

It makes absolutely no difference whether we will be super famous after death or if we have children to "continue the bloodline". After we're dead it's all the same, zero difference once you stop existing on this world.

It's actually very freeing. All the mistakes, all the trauma I faced. It will all be gone and it's not gonna be able to hurt anyone anymore.
