Let's say there will be free choice of euthanasia for every person that's 18+ and are fully aware what their actions will lead to will be allowed to request to end their life.

Since majority of the people are pro-lifers, do you think there will be a lot of protests against it or even riots?

Cause I personally don't think most families will be okay with this, they will be extremely scared for their children. Maybe they'll see it as genocide of the population.

But every nation thinks differently, how do you think people from your country will react to this?

I think the majority here would be very much against it. However, assisted suicide is legal here. But it's a long process and the chance they'll grant it, even if you have an incurable disease, is still very low.

Based on an article from 2021, it showed that only 35% of the people here are for assisted suicide.

In the US, they would react however the media tells them to react. People would likely see it as a threat rather than a freedom. Also lots of religious preaching.
I wish in the future that some country will decide to offer reliable and painfree exits to as medical tourism. The idea of a ship or island offering this service sounds great too. If only it could be true.

In my country, I'm sure there would be riots and protests. Most of the population here is illiterate and religious extremists so they might never be able to fathom or comprehend euthanasia being legal since it is a huge sin according to them and has a lot of stigma. Just recently a mob burned and desecrated churches and bibles over blasphemy charges, so I can't even imagine how devastating a nationwide protest would be

I'm from the UK which is a very anti-suicide country, I just know that if it was legalised selfish and deluded people who are unable to accept the fact that nobody is obligated to continue existing would do all they can to try and remove it. Sadly so many people wish to make existence into a prison where nobody can escape on their own terms, it's just inhumane and shows a complete lack of compassion.

I don't think that it would be accepted very well in the US. We have 10 states that allow assisted suicide in certain cases when someone has a terminal illness. Over the years, more people have come to accept this as being ok if someone has a serious illness and has a very poor quality of life.

Most people here would not accept it, if it was legal for anyone over 18 to get assisted suicide for any reason - especially if they aren't even sick. They would protest and try to overturn the law in the next election. The religious groups would fight this very hard. Some of them don't support euthanasia even when someone is terminally ill. They would have a stroke in the Bible Belt, if assisted suicide was given to anyone who requested it.

In the UK we can't even get through euthanasia for people with a terminal illness who want it so I think we have little to no chance for anything more than that.

The first thought that came to my mind was that people here (in the US) would react similarly to how they do to Planned Parenthood – picketing, harassing those who try to receive services, and so on. But I'm not sure that makes much sense since there's less reason for there to be distinct "suicide clinics".

You mean it's easy to be greenlighted?

Yes , I have seen that in the news , but when I enquired here , I found out , it is strict and long process. Getting greenlighted is very difficult.

The majority of people here in the US will probably be against it. Maybe when our resources start to getting pretty low and we start having riots because most people will not be able to feed their children or the rich start getting attacked over those resources the government will start allowing it. Hell I am honestly kind of surprised they don't already allow it for population control. Probably don't already because then the masses would be after the government. Sorry I don't use punctuation very well my kids think its funny I just tend to have paragraph long sentences.

Almost everyone is telling that it would not be accepted, what a bullshit IMO. I believe most people just keep the facade and say thats not OK.

We just see that ordering SN has become very difficult because the demand and wish to die is getting higher and higher. No government would act like this if only a few people want to leave this place...

It is simply fear that the whole economy is going to collapse.
