I think this title is a dream for every populist.

The leaders of my country are Friedrich Merz and Lars Klingbeil. I don't think they are doing a particularly good job. But it could also be a lot worse. I mean when the AfD takes over Germany and I will be fucked beyond repair.

My personal take is: no an average citizen would not make a better job. I think in many cases we would end up way worse. I am not even sure if I would do a better job. Probably not. I am so overwhelmed by my life that I am unable to work. But personally I would choose experts for my cabinet. And implement a technocratic government. And lobby interests had to be extremely transparent. But honestly what is going on in my country. We need reforms. People demand them but when it comes to their own bugets they don't want to take cuts. If we don't do reforms the AfD will take over power. And when we do (neoliberal) reforms the AfD will come into power even faster. Germany should transform more into a Scandinavian welfare state. But honestly I don't think the population and lobby interests would welcome that. The situation is really complex. I sometimes have the feeling as politician of the government parties you are basically doing per definition everything wrong.

I don't agree with many approaches of Friedirch Merz. But even if other politicians were now in his positions from the mainstream parties. I don't think the results would be much different. The zeitgeist favors the far-right and the reasons for that go deeper than the actions of a government that was elected roughly 1,5 years ago and lost popularity in a really dramatically fast way.
