Really need advice

I need real advice. The only thing keeping me from CTB is fear of death. I'm absolutely terrified of just ceasing to exist, and I don't have enough faith to seriously believe in the afterlife or reincarnation. A lot of people here seem to find peace in the notion that there's just nothingness after death, but I can't stand it. What can I do?

Ceasing to exist sounds like the bees knees, can't help you there man. There's much scarier things to worry about.

That should be the lowest on your worry list when thinking about what happens after death. Priorities man!

i also reluctantly believe theres nothing after death. the only way i can sort of feel okay with it is thinking of what it was like before i was born— just nothing. alternatively i just tell myself its just like being asleep without dreaming. its scary!

edit: also, we're all going to die at some point anyway. if it's inevitable it doesn't really matter if it's scary to comprehend since we HAVE to experience it. might be better just to focus on making your last moments as comfortable and peaceful as possible since the eventual state of being dead is unchangeable.

That everyone I share this planet with dies, no matter if it's by prolonging their life til they do or if they die when they decide to.

Everyone single human has died or is going to. The cool part is you're given authority to leave when you want and how you want, just takes work to set it up right for how you personally want to (as does everything in this world .. 😭😩)

The shitty part is media makes sure to hide anything related to suicide being a calm/happy/content choice, so they leave you with the scary version of it.

Freitod is a German word for "free death", one that is chosen and contently done by ones free will. So they try to not put it in this kind of light, thus slowly removing it's influence on people because they lack examples. Lame, I say! And dumb lol. #bringbackhappysuicides

Overall: because I had no choice being here but choosing to exit my own way is breaking free from any one/systems constraints, they have no say in how I feel about doing so either. They can label me or try to project onto me, but it's incredibly freeing to be in a place that they cannot touch.

Claiming control! Happily.

Take deep breaths with your eyes closed. Continue till most of the noise around you dissolves. Practice this a few times, when you feel your heart and mind calming down then open your eyes and look at any given point in a lighted environment. That's your present, now that what matters. Now switch off the light while keep looking at that point. That's the aftermath.
I agree with some commentators here, that death is inevitable. How it comes , dont think about it, make peace with your inner self.

I struggle with some parts of this too. I think there's no black-and-white answer. In my case, I don't actually fear nonexistence itself, it's the transition between consciousness and a permanent lack of consciousness that gets me stuck.

Any time we try to understand a lack of being, we're understanding it through our current, conscious mind, which means it's extremely innacurate and we can't really imagine it at all. It's like if we went back in time to before we were born, before we had a brain, and started trying to imagine things then... impossible, of course.

But I do find some comfort in the fact there's nothing to fear about nonexistence itself, because that will mean not fearing anything ever again... it's just the transition right before that that's difficult.

I am actually looking forward to that moment of non-existence, knowing you will find peace soon.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

we all experienced Non-Existence for 13.8 bilion years before we were born.

also every night in dreamless sleep.

to me that we disapear every night shows to me that this is an illusion , just something created by my brain, when my brain is less connected during dreamless sleep i disapear i cease to exist. where do i go? nowhere becuase imo i never existed except in the story the simulation only my brain creates. and this self model and concsiousness is also in most other animals ( watch a dog sleeping or emotions in dogs and cats). but the problem is this simulation feels very real and the brain can torture me unbearably , unbearable pain seems real and there is no way to stop the worst of it. the brain is a torture chamber.

the difference is once this torture chamber the brain dies then it's Non-Existence forever

but to me that's the best part , all problems solved forever , no threats of unbearable pain ever , no suffering ,no problems no pain , no bad memories for all time : why is that something to fear? not to me i don't fear that i wish for Eternal Non-Existence as soon as possible.

why is this a good state to be in the threat of :
someone is suffering constant unbearable pain screaming at the top of your lungs not even a second of relief for hours days years ... that's life . and the escape from that threat is Permanent Non-Existence. why is that bad ? i can't suffer if i don't exist

while i exist i can suffer unbearably a billion times worse than i can imagine. Non-Existence forever is the only guarantee of never suffering that badly and of never suffering again at all .

the brain is a horror i'm a brain that can suffer unending constant unbearable pain. i'm glad this nightmare will come to an end for all time. Non-Existence forever is the ultimate perfection . Eternal Non-Existence is as good as the worst torture is bad. that's how beautiful Permanent Non-existence is.

time , Death , entropy comes for all and then obliterates a small animal for all time. i've seen countless animals dead all around insects , other animals hit by cars , i'm no different .

a human is just another animal, cells, chemical reactions, a machine. it will break down and never function again as any other animal or machine as everything dies in this Entropic universe..

the self is an illusion created only by the brain. once the brain dies it can never create that simulation again .

To be honest I have no idea what waits after death. Some cultures say there's a Heaven but they differ on how to get in. Christianity and Islam say you can't get in if you CTB. Other traditions talk about reincarnation like Hinduism, Buddhism or Kabbalah but they also say you won't have a favourable reincarnation if you CTB. Some say union with the divine is what happens, you came from the source and you return to the source. I don't know what I personally believe I just know I can't face the next 50 or 60 years of my life. Anything has to be better than this.
