Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I was pretty wrong in my prediction who will the 2024 election. But I was right in what Trump would do.

In some ways it hasn't been as bad as I expected (I expected at least some vaccines to lose their recommendations by now for example) but there are many other ways that are much worse. Ways that would've brought me to this site months ago.

More dead brown people in the middle east while passing ridiculous laws and deporting students for political speech. Lets just say I am not a fan to keep this polite

Nothing would surprise me with any of our governments now. Nothing extremely bad anyhow (as I see it.)

Do you suppose every generation feels like we're going to hell in a handbasket? I've heard multiple generations complain bitterly about life and their government/ leaders. Yet weirdly, they continue to create new generations.

Maybe it's true for every generation, and they end up more or less fine, but what if there is some tipping point? Maybe some generation won't end up fine? People will still create new generations in any kind of circumstances, but what if the quality of life ends up being so bad that some generations might start fighting each other? Then after a century of fighting things will get gradually better, we decide that this fighting is pointless and decide to cooperate. Endless cycle. What can we do to keep prosperity and peaceful life for as many people as possible forever?

Tangerine Palpatine executing Order 66 was pretty much in line with my expectations.

I think you could well be right. People still seem to procreate- even in the most dire of circumstances. Even when it seems likely the child will starve. Or, be killed in war.

I don't envisage things being easier in the future though. Unless there are significant discoveries. As we are, we're gradually running out of resources and polluting every square inch of the earth. I don't see how peace and prosperity will be possible if the basics for living are in short supply. Regardless of who is leading a country ultimately.
